Welcome to Bass-Mollett Publisher's Personalized Temporary Grave Marker Program.

Step 1: Scan images

It is best to scan all the pictures that you are using before opening the template. (Bass-Mollett does not provide scanning or cropping capabilities.)

Save the scanned pictures as JPEGs at 150 to 300 dpi to a folder on your computer. (Example: Your “My Documents” Folder)

Picture of the Deceased is 2” wide by 3”high

Custom background design is 10” wide by 3.25” high

Custom side image design is 2.75” wide by 2.75” high

The picture sizes are only the recommended sizes. The picture box can be manipulated to resize the photo inside program.

Step 2: Choose Design Group

Choose the design group from the first page of the program, by clicking on the images or the text below it.

Step 3: Choose Background Design

Choose the design by clicking on the image or text of the background that you wish to use.

Step 7: Inserting a Picture of the Deceased or a custom background

All images need to be scanned and saved to your computer prior to this step as stated on the first page of these instructions.

If any distortion is visible after inserting the picture, the image can be manipulated by clicking once on the image and use the sizing handles (the small boxes or circles around the picture) to resize the image until the distortion is gone. If resizing was required, you may need to re-center the picture back to its original location. Just click on the picture and use your directional keys on your keyboard to move the image back to its original location.

To insert an image follow the illustration on the next page!

Change the shape of the picture

The Picture of the Deceased’s image can be changed to an oval picture by clicking on the “Change to oval” button on the BMP Grave Marker toolbar.

(Pictured on page 3 of these instructions)

Step 8: Saving the template for later use (Optional)

Click on the “Save as” button on the BMP Grave Marker toolbar (Pictured on page 2 of these instructions) and choose the desired location to save the template.

Step 9: Printing the design

Click File, Print.

Note: Due to the inconsistencies between printers, we recommend printing the template on a blank sheet of paper, then placing the grave marker behind the printed test sheet, checking for alignment.

If alignment is unsatisfactory, follow the instructions below.

Click on the edge of the background image or border and use your directional keys on your keyboard to nudge the image into alignment. Tip: Hold the Ctrl key down while using your directional keys to move in even smaller increments. When satisfied with the alignment, then print on the grave marker card.

Step 8 Separate the Grave Marker card

To insure a straight clean edge we recommend folding the card on the micro-perforation and working the card back and forth several times before separation.

Step 9 Laminate the Grave Marker Card

Follow the instructions provided with your laminating machine. If you have any questions, contact the manufacturer of your machine.

Step 10 Insert the Card into the Grave Marker

Insert the card by putting the bottom edge of the card under the metal lip. Working from one side, slide the top edge of the marker under the top metal lip and work the card under the lip to the opposite side.
