Starting on November 11, we will be improving the security of our network by enhancing our password requirements. The current minimum password length is 8 characters, and we are now moving to 15. The rollout schedule for the new password requirement will be:Nov 11 StaffNov 18 Faculty including AdjunctsBelow are the instructions to change your password depending on where you are located (campus/home) and what you access (web-based apps/VPN). Please contact the help desk (920-693-1767) if there are any questions or the steps below do not work for you. On Campus: When you log in for the first time on or after the date listed above, you will be prompted to change your password.Off Campus Using LTC Laptop (issued to you or library checkout) for Blackboard, Outlook, etc., but no VPN Access: On or after the date listed above, you will log in to your laptop with your current password. Go to the LTC password self-service site and change your password. Self-service can be accessed from the LTC website, choose Staff page, then click on Password Reset Tool, or type this URL in a web browser: selfservice.gotoltc.edu. Until you come back on campus and log into the laptop on the LTC network you will continue to use your old password to log into your laptop and your new password to access web-based applications like Blackboard, Outlook, etc. Off Campus Using LTC Laptop (issued to you or library checkout) with VPN Access: On or after the date listed above, you will log in to your laptop with your current password. Go to the LTC password self-service site and change your password. Self-service can be accessed from the LTC website, choose Staff page, then click on Password Reset Tool, or type this URL in a web browser: selfservice.gotoltc.edu. After changing your password, connect to the VPN using the new password. Soon afterwards, you will be prompted with a small popup box asking you to lock and unlock the laptop with your new credentials. To lock your laptop, hold the key that looks like a window (4 white boxes in a square pattern, which is two keys left of the space bar) and the letter "L" key at the same time. Do not skip this step as it synchronizes your network and laptop passwords. Then follow the instructions on the screen to unlock the laptop with your new password.Off Campus Using Personal Computer/Device for Blackboard, Outlook, etc.: On or after the date listed above, go to the LTC password self-service site and change your password. Self-service can be accessed from the LTC website, choose Staff page, then click on Password Reset Tool, or type this URL in a web browser: selfservice.gotoltc.edu. ................
