Dear Parents,

There are now a few options available to help you stay informed of what your child is doing in their Math class.

1. Class "Blog"

I have created a blog for my classes. A blog is short for "web-log," and works much like an online journal. You can access the blog at

I will be using this site to post weekly homework assignments, announce upcoming tests or quizzes, and when I pass back quizzes or homework packets to the students. I hope that this will be a useful tool to increase communication between the students, you, and me. There are also some links to other useful websites on the blog, so be sure to check them out.

2. Student grades online

For those of you that came to conferences last month, I gave you a yellow sheet of paper with instructions on how to view your child's grades online. Here is a reprint of those instructions incase you have misplaced this sheet, or did not receive one.

To view the grades:

• go to

• You should see the login screen shown on the left.

• Select the appropriate class from the drop-down menu

• Type in your child’s last name

• The password is your child’s Student ID number, which can be found on his or her report card, progress report or Student ID Card.

I plan on updating grades every Monday afternoon.

I will no longer be handing out paper copies or emailing student’s grades.

There is a link below this screen on the website to send me an email. Please contact me if you have any problems logging into the site.

I hope that you find these resources useful. As always, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns please send me an email.
