Sponsored Blog Post Template - KAM Kartway

The Sponsored Post Template

This template is to help you plan your plan and write your News/Blog Post for . The RED TEXT are intended to be replaced with the author’s text “copy” and ORANGE BOX areas are to help you “plan” out the article “content”. Any LINKS should be indicated by BLUE text with an underline {and the actual link, or URL address to be typed out within brackets}.

Step 1: Optimize article for search engines (SEO)

To get the best return on your article (ROI) your Article Title and first line of the 1st paragraph should include the “Keyword” or key phrase that you want search engines to catch (ie: Company name, product, or Brand).

Step 2: Identify Your Key Takeaway

What do you want your audience to know how to do after reading your blog post and viewing your SlideShare?

Step 3: Brainstorm a Few Possible Titles

The Sponsored Post Template has a two line maximum text TITLE

You don’t have to pick the perfect title before your blog post is done, but it definitely helps to jot down a few ideas to help keep you focused during the writing process.

At Pit Mom Promotions, we typically choose a working title – a title that you can "work" off of that guides your post, and helps you resist the urge to ramble off into a million different directions. Once the post is complete, we usually fine tune to ensure the title accurately reflects the post content, grabs potential readers’ attention, and is optimized for search.

Using numbers like “The top 10 reasons….” or “5 ways to…” have been identified as best performers to grab an audience’s attention. [cite] Here are some ‘brainstorming” examples that Hub Spot used for a presentation blog

1. 13 Stats to Spook Your Boss Away From Traditional Advertising

2. 13 Stats That Will Spook Your Boss into Adopting Inbound Marketing

3. 13 Spooky Stats to Scare Your Boss Away From Ineffective Marketing Tactics (working title)

4. 13 Spooky Stats to Scare Your Boss Into Better Marketing ()

In this particular example, Hub Spot used the same title for the blog post as they did for the “SlideShare” presentation they had done. This is a great way to maximize your benefits on an existing marketing campaign that you may already have in place or for a product launch.

Step 4: Create an Outline

As explained by Hub Spot, a typical blog post consists of:

• An introduction: Sets the stage for what story you plan to tell your readers.

• A body: Explains a series of events or leading up to an ending or conclusion.

• A conclusion: Wraps up your post with an ending that's reflective of what your readers just learned.

What are all the bases you need to cover to introduce your business, product, or brand?

Use these questions to help you create your outline below.

Step 5: Write the your article

When writing your introduction, you want to keep one question top of mind: How can I establish credibility and empathize with my audience to introduce my topic?

Feel free to leave the introduction for last, too. Sometimes it’s easier to introduce your post after you’ve written the real meat of it.

When you do write your intro, here’s how we recommend going about it, using a blog post on 10 Do's and Don'ts for Using Stock Photos in Your Marketing as an example.

|Steps to Writing Your article |Remember to indicate in BLUE with an underline any “LINKS” that you intend for the post and put the URL |

| |address in brackets like these: { } or [ ]. Replace the RED Text with your COPY. |

|Paragraph One: Write a compelling opening that draws the reader into what the post is about. Don’t forget that the first sentence of the |

|first paragraph should include your “Keyword(s)”. |

|Paragraph two: Remember that the text box will expand as you type..... |

|Paragraph three: Do you want your readers to sign up for your newsletter? Request more information? Tweet something? Download something? Buy |

|something? Include a “Call to Action” |

|Paragraph four: Let the reader know they’ve arrived at the end of the post and summarize the article here…. |

Step 6: Save your article as a WORD document

You can simply save this entire template by going to file and click “Save As”, rename it and save to your computer.

Step 7: Chose 2 photos/images for your post

Photos are essential to any article or Blog Post and should be selected with great care for aesthetics. One will be used as the post’s “Feature Image” that may also be used as the post “Header Image” and the other is intended for the post body to accentuate your content.

This Image will also be used for the KAM Kartway eNewsletter as well as in a Facebook and Twitter post to highlight (advertise) your article.

A great Feature Image will be sized to 266px (width) by 160px (height) and customized for the article to draw or grab attention from readers. If you need assistance with this we can help! If you do not have a custom image you can use your company’s Logo instead. If you would like for us to create a custom image for you we can do that for an additional cost of $25 per image.

Images are subject to approval and must be in jpeg or png format only. (pdf and Vector images are not acceptable.)

An embedded YouTube Video may be used in place of the second photo choice for the body of the article. (Videos are subject to approval.)

Here is some more advice for a successful Blog Post with tips and some recommendations:

Check your links

Head on over to SlideShare where your presentation is uploaded, click on “Embed,” copy the embed code, and paste it into your blogging platform where it naturally flows into the post copy. Ideally you want your SlideShare to appear above the fold.

• Create a Compelling Nice Cover Image

Every blog post should have an image. At Pit Mom Promotions, we include at least one photo or image in every post we write so that when the blog post is shared to social media channels, it’s accompanied by a thumbnail image to entice a clickthrough.

Stock photos can be used for this purpose, take a look at this SlideShare presentation on this: .

Edit your work

Everyone can use a second set of eyes to look over their post before putting it out into the world, so have a friend or colleague look it over. Check out HubPost’s post: The Ultimate Editing Checklist. KAM is not responsible for inaccuracies of material submitted.

SEO optimization

If you’ve spent all this time writing a great blog post, you’ll want to make sure it can be easily discovered in search engines. Check out HubSpot’s post on Blog SEO for the Modern Marketer: How to Optimize Your Posts for tips on how to do just that.

Include Calls-to-Actions

As marketers, we want to generate as many leads as possible without impacting the fluidity of the story. You should have at least one CTA in your blog post – at the end. If you have opportunities to insert other CTAs throughout the post, even better.

Remember, this article will appear not just on KAM Kartway’s blog (website), but on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn as well as other blogs and social media channels that decide to embed it. Additionally, the longevity factor of being included on the Home Page, sidebar rotation, and Archive greatly impacts the lead generation opportunity so you want to take advantage of that!

Here are some examples of Calls-to-Action items:

Email sign up for Free Newsletter

1) Free product sample

2) Coupon for product or service

3) How To Tutorial video or ebook

4) SlideShare presentation

5) Online Webinar or workshop
