APA Reference List Examples:

Online and Other Sources

For online sources, provide as much of the full date information as possible within the date of publication parentheses, e.g. (2013, May 3). Online sources such as blogs, newspapers, or Youtube videos are more likely to include a full date. Look for Copyright information with a date attached.

Basic Online Resources

Video from a library database: In a citation for an online video accessed through a database, use a set of parentheses after the name to specify the person's specific contribution (e.g. producer, writer or director).

**Note: APA does not provide exact instructions on how to cite a streaming video from an online library database. For the format of this citation, we have included the URL of the video at the end of the citation so that it is easier for your instructor to locate it.

With Producer, Writer or Director listed:

Handout from a Teacher:

With author information: If the professor created the assignment, include his or her name in the place of the author. If the handout was created by someone else or an organization, include that information in the place of the author.

Without author information: If there is no author information, the title of the handout is moved to the front of the reference entry in place of the author's name.

Personal Interview or email: Personal communications are not included in an APA reference list; instead, they are only included as citations in the body of the text. Use the below format when citing an interview in an APA paper.
