DONATION GUIDE

When donating please remember:

• Check with the list and with the charity before dropping off items

– each one has specific guidelines and needs

• Clothing should be new or clean & gently used (no stains, rips, missing buttons, broken zippers, etc.)

• Most of these places have limited space so items of clothing should be given during the season they can be used - exceptions are noted below

• Furniture & Household items need to be in good condition & in working order – the facilities have no means to repair items

• While these charities are grateful for donations, they operate on very tight budgets& it costs them money to dispose of unusable items – Please sort items with that in mind.

• Call before dropping things off as schedules can change

• Make sure the item is safe to use; for recalls and safety issues you can check the Consumer’s Product Safety Commission website – productsafety.htm
