Uploading a Podcast (digital MP3 or M4a recording)

Step 1: Upload Your MP3 or M4a File

1. Login using your Titania account ()

2. Enter the administrative area of our blog ()

o If you cannot access the administrative area, contact Dr. J

o If you did not set up your Titania account, go to the Titania site () and follow the directions for creating a login account. Next, contact Dr. J with your account information so she can add you to our site.

3. From the command line near the top of the Dashboard select “Manage” and then “Pages” (located in the second set of tabs)

4. Select “Edit” next to the page you wish to add your file to (Local Folk and Popular Culture Podcast Reports)

5. Once you have elected to edit the page, move down the page to the “Upload” function.

6. Select the “Choose File” button and browse to find the mp4a or mp3 file that you have created (this file will need to be on your computer), then select and open the file.

7. Give the file a Title (and description, if you wish) Use the following formats for your Title:

o Title of Your Podcast, Group Name or Group Member Names

o Norwegians Celebrate Independence, Dr. J.

8. Select “Upload.”

9. The file will be uploaded to Titania. It may take a few minutes.

Step 2: Post Your MP3 or M4a file (a digitally recorded podcast):

1. Upload the file as described. (Steps 1 – 9)

2. You will next see the file name with an “Edit” link to the right.

3. Select the “Edit” link and a url with the file location will appear.

4. Select and copy the url.

5. Scroll slightly up the page to the Podcasting section.

6. Select “Add Media File.”

7. Paste the URL that you copied into “Location.”

8. Give it a title: Use the following formats for your Title:

o Title of Your Podcast, Group Name or Group Member Names

o Norwegians Celebrate Independence, Dr. J.

9. The rest of the options are just that, optional, and you can leave them alone.

10. Scroll up and select the “Save” button (just above the podcast section and to the right)

11. That’s it. Select “View Site” at the top of the page and check out your podcast.
