Faberware Automatic Coffee Urn Instructions

Time Requirements: Coffee brews at the speed of about one cup per minute. Allow adequate time according to the number of cups to be prepared.

Coffee Type: Regular or Percolator Grind

Filter Requirements: None required

(One cup coffee equals 5 fluid ounces)

To make coffee:

✓ Remove cover and basket.

✓ Check to see that spigot is closed. Fill urn with cold tap water. The automatic timer is timed to begin with a cold water start.

✓ Wet coffee basket to help keep small particles of coffee from sifting through.

✓ Add desired amount of coffee to basket and place on the pump tube. Pump tube must be resting in the center well at the bottom of the pot.

✓ Replace urn cover and secure into position by turning cover clockwise until cover tabs fit into handle slots.

✓ Plug into standard outlet (120 volt). To avoid unnecessary strain on the heating mechanism and possible mechanical failure, PLUG IN COFFEE URN AFTER THE WATER AND COFFEE ARE ADDED.

✓ When coffee brewing is complete, percolating will stop and the red indicator light will come on. The urn automatically switches to “keep warm” setting to preserve fresh tasting coffee at hot, ready-to-serve temperature. For best flavor, remove coffee basket and pump tube when brewing is completed. REMOVE PARTS CAREFULLY. COFFEE MAKER AND PARTS WILL BE HOT.

✓ Unplug the pot when only 1-2 cups remain.

To Prepare for Equipment Return:

✓ Unplug and allow the urn to cool.

✓ Remove cover, coffee basket and pump tube carefully. Grounds and inside parts may still be warm.

✓ Rinse urn with water. Never immerse base of urn in water.

✓ Discard grounds, rinse basket and pump tube with water. Replace all parts in urn for return to store.
