Colonoscopy Preparation (Miralax - 1/2)

Please have someone drive you as you will be sedated and will be unable to drive.
Day Before the Exam (Morning)
Make sure you have approximately 2 liters of a Clear Liquid. We recommend one 64oz bottle of Gatorade but any clear liquid will do. Mix Miralax 238gms (or Generic Equivalent) with approximately 2 liters or 1/2 gallon.
Clear Liquid Diet all day. (Clear Liquids are liquids you can see through)
~3pm (or 2 hours before the next step)
Take 4 tablets of Dulcolax (Bisacodyl) with a glass of water.
~5pm - 7pm
Drink a glass of the mixed solution every 10-15 minutes to finish All 2 Liters over 2-3 hours. (You may start this portion later but you must finish by midnight)
After Midnight:
Nothing by Mouth!
Medication is allowed with small sip of water up until 3 hours before procedure.
If you are Diabetic - Please ask your Doctor about special instructions.
Stop the following Medications:

Coumadin - 5 Days
Aspirin, Plavix, Ticlid - 3-5 days
Iron - 3 days
If you have not been to the office recently, please call to verify your insurance coverage with the office staff.
Medical Colon Cleanse: If recommended by Dr. Gronowitz you should take a “Probiotic” once daily for 30 consecutive days after the 2 Liter Prep. Dr Gronowitz recommends the following 3 over the counter Probiotics. [FloraQ, Florastor, Align]
