Introduction This tip sheet describes the steps for importing the signed Research Study Schedule using the Media Manager activity. The signed Research Study Schedule supports the Wood CHPS Outpatient lab ordering workflow. The study schedule needs to be saved on a department or personal shared drive prior to beginning importing. Media Manager Media manager allows you to attach various file types including PDF, Microsoft? Word files, dictations and scans. The Media Manager activity is a one-stop solution for managing scan, voice, video, and document files. TIP:Prior to importing the Research Study Schedule into Media Manager, always check to see if it was previously imported in by someone else. Open up Chart Review for the patient, and go to the Media tab to confirm.Importing Media/Documents Basics Open Media Manager (Epic button/Patient Care/Media Manager) ID the patient Click on the Import button in the toolbar. Browse to the location of your saved study schedule. Important: the document has to be stored on a department or personal shared drive. Epic only recognizes network locations so it can’t come from my documents or on a thumb drive. Highlight the file and click Open. The Edit File Information window appears.In the Attach File To section, the Patient button will default and be grayed out. Leave it at the Patient level for this document.Choose the Doc type of Research Written Lab Orders 3264535560069Description field: Enter something that is appropriate for the document type Example: IRB 13205 Study Schedule. This will be seen when the document files into Chart plete any other field necessary and then click Accept. The document will file on the Media tab in Chart Review for the patient.
