Orange Media Network (OMN) Creative Associate 2018-2019The OMN Creative Associate will gain graphic design, creative video, and photography experience. The Associate is responsible for creating images, layouts, videos, photos, and other designs. They work collaboratively, as part of a creative team, on all graphic design, video, and photo projects for OMN, including but not limited to advertising designs, promotional graphics and videos, client videos, magazine and newspaper layouts, infographics, motion graphics for video, web and social media graphics. The position includes (1) collaboration with other graphic designers, non-designers, journalists, photographers, (2)) training on basic and advanced skills and (3) project management.Qualifications:Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (including Illustrator, Photoshop, inDesign, Premiere)Ability to think creatively and innovativelyUnderstanding of marketing, advertising and multimedia designEye for visual compositionComfortable shooting and editing videoand/or photosKnowledgeable about field video productionKnowledgeable of how to create video contentAbility and interest in learning to create content for all media platforms Knowledgeable of legal regulations and ethical principles guiding television and videoEffective time management skills and ability to meet deadlinesExperienced with giving and receiving feedbackAbility to remain professional and calm when working with difficult individualsDemonstrable customer service talentOrganized and reliableStrong writer, communicator and comfortable with public speakingCapable of leading and coaching others to be their bestMeets university eligibility requirements, including but not limited to:Must be currently enrolled at Oregon State University for at least 6 academic creditsMust have a minimum GPA of 2.5Must remain in a good academic standing from the term prior to selection and during the entire period of employmentExpectations:ParticipationMust attend and fully participate in OMN Boot Camp (Sept. 5-7, 2018; Sep. 10-12, 2018) and be available to work (Sep. 13-19, 2018) before school starts.Must participate in and represent OMN at Welcome Week activities (Sept. 21-23, 2018)Fully participates in all OMN events, including but not limited to the OMN Open House the first Wednesday of every termMeet weekly with adviser in cohort meeting to go over feedback and areas for improvement; strategize for overcoming challenges. Ensure that you complete all OMN surveys, including but not limited to the Weekly and Term AssessmentsHold and post an average of 10 regular office hours each week at OMN, at least half of these hours should be during regular business hours (8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday thru Friday). Collaborate with other members of the Creative Video team as needed.Work with Creative Video Team to create an average of at least three videos per week from Orange Media Network.
