Topics include maintenance.Course PrerequisitesSuggested: ELMT 2441 (Electromechanical Systems) and RBTC 1405Textbook RequiredNo textbook requiredCourse Rationale/ObjectivesThis robotics course is intended as a hands on course installing, configuring and programming a robotics systems consisting of Fanuc robots, Allen-Bradley PLCs, Brandt-Hill conveyors, and sensors from Turck and Banner.Student Learning OutcomesDesign and implement a robotic system including wiring PLC and CNC equipment;Troubleshoot and maintain the robotic cell to make it function in an automated environmentApply design techniques to maintain set cycle times on an automated systemWECM - Workforce Education Course Manual WECM Description and ObjectivesCourse Description: A capstone course that provides the student with laboratory experience in the installation, set-up, and testing of robotic cells. Topics include maintenance.End-of-Course Outcomes: Design and implement a robotic system including wiring PLC and CNC equipment; troubleshoot and maintain the robotic cell to make it function in an automated environment; and apply design techniques to maintain set cycle times on an automated system. SCANS - Secretary's Commission on Achieving Necessary Skills Competencies In 1990, the U.S. Department of Labor established the Secretary’s Commission on Achieving Necessary Skills (SCANS) to examine the demands of the workplace and whether our nation’s students are capable of meeting those demands. The Commission determined that today’s jobs generally require competencies in the following areas: Resources: Identifies, organizes, plans and allocates resources Interpersonal: Works with others Information: Acquires and uses information Systems: Understands complex interrelationships Technology: Works with a variety of technologies The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board requires that all degree plans in institutions of higher education incorporate these competencies and identify to the student how these competencies are achieved in course objectives. Incompletes not completed by the date specified automatically become a letter grade of F for the course.Scholastic DishonestyActs prohibited by the College for which discipline may be administered include scholastic dishonesty, including but not limited to cheating on an exam or quiz, plagiarizing, and unauthorized collaboration with another in preparing outside work. Academic work submitted by students shall be the result of their thought, research or self-expression.?
