Grinnell College International Student Loan (GCISL) Cosigner/Waiver Form

In most circumstances, a creditworthy cosigner is required to borrow the GCISL. It is the borrower's responsibility to secure a cosigner who meets all of the following criteria.

U.S. citizen or permanent resident Not enrolled in a college or university At least 21 years of age Live in the United States Creditworthy

We will call the cosigner prior to conducting the credit check. A new credit check and promissory note are required each year.

Part B: Petition a Waiver of Cosigner

If unusual circumstances prevent you from securing a qualified cosigner, you may request a cosigner waiver. Waivers are granted on a case by case basis and must be approved by the Office of Financial Aid. You will be notified of the approval/denial.
