Using Blackboard Collaborate for the Online Math Lab for ELI MTH 1 Classes

You will need a high-speed internet connection to comfortably participate in this synchronous, online environment. You will also need speakers or earphones to hear the conversations. You can use the chat option or a microphone (or headset with microphone) to ask questions. Use the URL found in your Blackboard course site. Log in using your first name and last initial (or full name) as you are registered in your MTH 1 class. Do not use a nickname or your Blackboard user ID.

At least the first time, but perhaps more often, you will need to run the Blackboard Collaborate application.

Read the Session Participant Agreement and then click on the Accept button.

Select your connection speed from the drop-down menu - Cable/DSL or LAN are preferred ? and then click on the OK button.

When you enter the Online Math Lab you will see that the room is named the Math 1 Emporium. The instructor will be there to help you. You will be able to write problems on the white board, type questions in the chat area. You will be able to raise your hand so that your questions will be answered in turn. You will also be able to answer yes & no questions as proposed by the instructor.
