How to make a Blessings BoxYou will need:A box with a flat lid: Hobby Lobby has these on sale for 50% off every other week. The average ? price cost is 6 dollars. Parchment paper: this type of paper works best for the cover letter and the verses as it is a bit sturdier. Ivory color always looks good.You will need your set of verses printed out. The scriptures are awesome. The verses print out three to a page. You will need your cover letter. Print this out and trim it to fit the inside of your lid so that when it is opened it can be read.You will need about three spools of 5/8” ribbon that match your box. They will need to be cut into 6 inch pieces. You will need about forty pieces. Ribbon goes on sale at Hobby Lobby every other week and will cost ? price about a dollar.You will need Modge Podge. It is a glue that sticks to anything and dries clear. You will also need a small foam brush to apply it. You will use this to adhere your cover letter to the inside of the box. This can be purchased at Hobby Lobby or Michaels.A paper trimmer for trimming the verses and cover letter.How to put it all together:Trim your cover letter to fit the inside of the lid to your box. You want to try to make it fill the entire lid, so trim it so it is flush with all sides if possible. Put a thin layer of Modge Podge to the inside cover of the lid and then press the cover letter on it so that it reads top to bottom when you open the lid. Depending on the size of our lid, you can reduce or enlarge the print.Set this aside and let dry.Making the little scrolls: Cut all your ribbon into six inch pieces. Cut all your verses using a paper trimmer so that your lines are straight. The verses should print out three to a page. Cut them so that each verse is about three inches tall. Roll these up starting with the short side. Tie them each with your ribbon. I tie them first in knots and then add the bow so that after people read them, they can just roll them up and slip them back into their ribbon.Fill the box with your little scrolls and put the lid on top. Yay, you have made a sweet gift of scripture for a family. ................
