How to make detergent out of Washing Soda ? Liquid

1 cup washing soda 1/2 cup borax 1 Bar soap, grated (its best to use your regular bar soap) 3 gallons water

Boil 4 cups of water, lower the heat to a simmer Grate the bar of soap Slowly add the grated soap to the boiled water, then stir until the soap is dissolved. Stir until the soap is dissolved Add 3 gallons of warm tap water to the 5 gallon bucket Add 1 cup washing soda, 1/2 cup borax, and the boiled mixture to the 3 gallons of water in the 5gallon bucket and stir. Cover the 5 gallon bucket with lid and let stand 24 hours Stir after 24 hours and the detergent is ready to use

Warning: Washing Soda is often confused with Baking Soda. They are both made by Arm & Hammer and are available on the Detergent aisle in most stores. Some feel borax is too strong an ingredient; it is optional in these recipes. This does not alter the amount of detergent used per regular load.

Tip: The appearance of the liquid detergent will vary when you open the lid. It can be gel like, watery, or lumpy. Just stir and use ? cup per regular load. White vinegar makes an excellent homemade fabric softener. Add ? cup white vinegar in the rinse cycle.
