follower! Thanks for all you do to help us focus all our resolve and resources on "Bringing People to Jesus to Know Him and Make Him Known!" through all our people, programs and property! Thanks for helping us push aside every "lesser thing" so we can bring the full-force of Indian River City to his GREATER THING! I hope you

have an extra great experience with Jesus today!

Thanks so much for choosing to read this Newsletter today! That's putting your 20/20 VISION to great use! Thanks even more for choosing to be part of exciting Indian River City Church! AAAAAANNNNDDDDD...most of all, thanks for choosing to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior! Some folks have a misunderstanding about God! They know

God planned their existence and has a purpose for their lives! That's not where the misunderstanding comes in! Some have the wrong idea that every detail of life is preplanned! Some think they have no choice in the matter!

BBBBBBBUUUUUTTTTTTT...the Bible teaches you and me the exact opposite! Yes, God has a plan and a purpose for our lives, but it's not automatic and it will never be accidental! The Bible says, "Today I am giving you a

choice. You can choose life and success or death and disaster. I am commanding you to be loyal to the LORD, to live the way he has told you, and to obey his laws and teachings. You are about to cross the Jordan River and take the land that he is giving you. If you obey him, you will live and become successful and

powerful!" (Deuteronomy 30:15-16) I don't know about you but deserves a great BIG "WOW!" Why is that?!

GREAT QUESTION! THANKS FOR ASKING! That's because God won't force us to enjoy the plan he has for us! He gives you and me the choice to accept or reject his gift of salvation! He gives us the choice to obey or disobey his directions! He gives us the choice to follow or ignore the purpose for which we were created! Far too many folks

miss the purpose of our lives because of sometimes we choose poorly!

The Bible says repeatedly that God will never force us to do life according to his will and way! When Moses led the Jews out of Egypt and into the desert after 400 years of slavery, he told them about a land of milk and honey, a land

of great, bountiful blessing that God had promised the people of Israel! It would be so different from their years of slavery! But before they went into the Promised Land, God, through Moses, told the people the same thing he says to you and me: "Today I am giving you a choice!" God really wanted his people to enjoy the bounty of the Promised

Land but he didn't make them accept it! The choice was theirs and theirs alone!

This is a pretty good picture of salvation! Coming out of slavery to sin into freedom in Christ! In order to enjoy life in the Promised Land, the Israelites had to choose to obey God! You and I have that same choice to make every single day! Whether we will accept God's salvation and the good things that come along with it is a choice we alone can and must make! I don't know about you but I have made some really poor choices along the way...even after

becoming a follower of Jesus! If we choose to repent, God chooses to forgive!

God could have made us a puppet, but he chose not to do it that way! He gives you and me the ability and the opportunity to choose his will and way! If we choose poorly, that choice can become our greatest curse! Some of our choices go with us forever! BBBBBUUUUUTTTTTTTTT...when we choose wisely, it's becomes our greatest blessing! YAY! Choosing Jesus as my Lord and Savior at 16 years of age was the best choice I've ever made! I've never had any reason to regret that choice! Today God gives you and me a choice between life by choosing salvation and his path for life or...death! Not a really great choice to make! Today...which path will you and I choose?! That's

another really great question! Thanks for asking! SSSSSSSOOOOOOO...what answer will we give God today?!

For us to become more like Jesus we must "resolve to know nothing except Jesus Christ while we're here!" (1 Corinthians 2:2) If we keep focusing ourselves on that one thing we can more easily identify all the "lesser things" that are stealing our time, talent, treasure and things from God's GREATER THINGS! Let's give all we are and all

we have to "Bring People to Jesus to Know Him and Make Him Known!" Now that's...RADICAL!

New Month, New Hope

This month's reflection is excerpted from Dr. Dennis Kinlaw's Book of Devotions This Day With The Master Dr. Kinlaw was a former president of Asbury College.

"The new year brings HOPE. As we look into the year that opens before us, we would like to think that it could be better than the one behind us. That yearning for something better is a gift from God and a promise that the HOPE can be realized. God wants the year before you to be the best that you have ever had. The key lies in where you look for fulfillment. It must not be within yourself. God is the God who wants to make all things new..... With God comes the word that the future can be better than the present. "I am making all things new." (Rev 21:5) Apparently God never quits making things better because this word comes as the last word in human history. He is the God of eternal renewal."

Serving Opportunities in Adult Ministries

MOPS Mentor: Looking for Moms & Grandmoms who have gained a wealth of wisdom & insights through

their own childrearing experiences & who are willing to share life with our young MOPS moms. Monthly Time Commitment: 3 meetings on the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Mondays. Approximately 6-8 hours. Energy commitment: Lots of listening & Loving.

Library Team Member: Looking for a person with prior Library experience with cataloging, purchasing books and computer knowledge to work with the team in maintaining & growing our Library. Time commitment: Fridays, 9:00am-noon, occasional Sunday mornings for 1-2 hours.

Adopt a Teacher--be encouragers of the teachers and staff in very simple ways. An interest sheet is available of the "adopted teacher" to know their preferences and likes. Each person who desires to "adopt" a teacher is free to support them in whatever frequency and way they desire. We ask that it be kept simple! Thanks for all your love and care!

Dementia Family Caregiver Training Level One

Are you are the loving spouse, partner, good neighbor or friend and are caring for or supporting the ill loved one with Progressive Dementia? This first level class gives practical and professional help

in caring for your loved one and for yourself. Grow in knowledge of the unique understanding of caring for those affected by any Progressive Dementia Related Diseases.

The 4 class sessions are very practical and are presented specifically for our Family and Supportive Friend Caregivers. All are welcome and the classes are open to the general public!

THE KIDS' PLACE!

Toddle Inn, Pre-School and Before & After School Care!

The Kids' Place has 40 employees and 260 children on our campus weekly! Toddle Inn, PreSchool and Before & After School programs are all doing well. Preschool & School Age still have openings for students! JTKP has 17 staff currently participating in the TEACH Scholarship program. This is a State initiative to help Early Childhood Ed teachers achieve a College

education to raise quality of programs for our little ones.

For the month of December, we received $94,675 in donations! Cumulatively, the church continued in a

positive financial position carrying approximately $26,406 forward out of the month of December. Indian River City is blessed to end the 2019 year with a Cash

Flow balance of $144,565 allowing for the transfer of $24,000 to the Capital Improvement funds for future roof and HAVAC replacements. The new total in the

Capital Improvement accounts is $68,423!

Thank you for your generous giving! The work of the church could not go on without the consistent, generous gifts of God's people through Tithes and Offerings. One of the greatest indications of our love for the Lord and His church is both our desire to give, as well as the

action of giving.
