1. Liquify Tool - open Photoshop, file, open, select the handouts drive, select 1 dance model

How to:

• Hint: ZOOM Ctrl + (zoom in), Ctrl – (zoom out), then select the area you want to work on: the face (left side in palette to select the area)

• Click on the Filter menu, then click on Liquify, you might have to zoom in more. We are working on the face.

• Use the tool bar on the left to liquify your image. When done click OK & save.

Save as: your last name liquefy (Format as JPEG, ok)

2. Transparent – open Photoshop, file, open, select the handouts drive, select logo with background (You are getting rid of the background area in this image so that it is transparent when it is place over another image.)

How to:

• Right click on Magic Eraser Tool, select Magic Eraser Tool

• Hint: you might want to zoom in to get all of the background (the little pieces)

• Erase the black background

Save as: your last name transparent (Format as JPEG, ok)

3. Adding Background to image and working with layers – open Photoshop, file, open, select the handouts drive, select 1 dance model

How to:

• Unlock layer (lower right hand corner in layers panel: drag lock to recycle bin)

• Create an additional layer (lower right hand corner in layers panel: Click new layer icon)

• Make background on image layer transparent (see step 2)

• Gradient tool – click on Gradient tool (icon under eraser tool: left side)

o Click on gradient (top tool bar) that you like, draw ray cross page (click on picture pull across page let go)

• Change the color (right side tool bar palette) if you wish

• Change order of layers: click on image layer drag and drop image before background layer

• Modify image (Artistic, Blur, Brush Strokes . . .)

o Select image layer, click on filter menu select a filter feature such as Artistic . . . .

Save as: your last name adding background gradient tool (Format as JPEG, ok)

4. Blending Pictures– open Photoshop, file, open, select the handouts drive, Schell, Integrating Technology, Paint-Photoshop Images, select 4 Rider and 4 animal (hold shift to grab both of them – click open), click on the minimize icon to see both images at the same time.

How to:

• 1st make 4 rider so I can only see the boy (no background): use the eraser tool

• Right click on eraser icon, select magic eraser tool, start clicking on background of the picture (4 rider)

o Hint: if you need to get closer zoom in

• Resized the image (4 rider): image size, width 2000 (the height will change on it’s own)

• Click the move tool and drag the boy onto the 4 animal picture, place him on the bird exactly where you want him on the image.

• Click on the eraser icon and erase the parts of the boy that you should not see

• Part of leg, maybe elbow

o Hint: I suggest you zoom in to be as accurate as possible, use ctrl z to undo the last step
