SPELLING WORD LIST ACTIVITIES:

Week One:

• type out the entire list of words on the computer. Change each vowel to a different color. Print out.

• Art writing – create art using your spelling list words. Write each word in a creative way using different shapes and designs.

• Type up your list of words four times; with each list typed in a different font.

• Sort and add three – sort your words and write your sort. Add three extra words to each column that follow the pattern.

Week Two:

• write each of your words for your list four times each neatly. These should be written across the page on the lines, not bunched up!

• Write your words in reverse ABC order.

• Write a synonym or antonym for each word.

• Write a poem and try to use all of your words in it. Make sure you underline the spelling words you use.

Week Three:

• Make and complete a puzzle with all your words on the website . Print it out and complete the puzzle.

• Create a cartoon strip using at least 8 of your spelling words.

• Write a story using your words.

• Put your words into question or exclamation sentences (one word per sentence). Watch your punctuation!

Week Four:

• write a letter to a friend using all of your words

• cut out a picture from a newspaper or magazine and use the words from your list to write a story about the picture

• ransom words: look through magazines and newspapers to find the ltters that make each of your words. Glue them together to make your words.

• Use a dictionary to find 10 of your words. List the page number and 2 guide words for each. Write the meaning for each word.
