The student is responsible for a computer with Internet access for homework assignments outside the school day.

Online courses offered as new credit during the school day will follow school board policy for grading, 80% assignments and tests and 20% exam. Repeat credit offered in nine week blocks will be graded 50% tests and 30% assignments. Semester exams aren’t required for repeat nine week block courses but may be taken if the student makes the request. EOC scores are used for exam grades in EOC courses if it improves the student’s average.

Repeat credit taught in nine week blocks can receive a grade no higher than a “C”. Students will receive a final grade in the course that will be recorded on their transcript.

Assignments will be posted in Blackboard. Assignments received after the set deadline(s) will be graded a zero or a reduction in points. Students will need an excused absence to make up work.

A Gaggle email account will be available to the student to communicate with the online teacher and must be checked once every 24 hours. This email account should be used for school purposes only and is filtered for inappropriate usage.

If a student is absent, it is the student’s responsibility to contact the online teacher as soon as possible. A doctor’s note or other documentation may be required to make-up missed work. When a student misses the assigned class period for their online course for any reason, the student is expected to complete the assignments in accordance with St. Tammany Parish School Board policy.

Students are expected to login their Bb, Odysseyware, Math XL accounts and Gaggle email daily to communicate with the online teacher. Not all students will be enrolled in Math XL or Odysseyware.

ACADEMIC FRAUD WILL RESULT IN A ZERO ON THE TEST OR ASSIGNMENT.

IT IS THE STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY TO KEEP A BACK UP COPY OF ALL WORK SENT TO THE ONLINE INSTRUCTOR. If the instructor does not receive an assignment, it is the student’s responsibility to resend the assignment.

Parents should monitor the progress of their child through the grade book in their Blackboard account. Grades will be posted in the school systems web based student information site.
