1.0 Summary

PRIAM has been enhanced to allow use of OCIUS for PC. It was only applicable to Shop Sales, Shop Returns and Customer Payments via Till but has been extended to Mail order with Tills and Reservations and Special Orders.

OCIUS links to ICP or WinTi servers at Commidea and handles all card transactions requiring a PIN. The OCIUS for PC application resides on the PoS (the till) and it has the ability to print receipts via the PoS printer and comes with a key-pad to enter the customer’s PIN code.

1.1 Pre-requisites

OCIUS for PC v0.2.00.04.13 is installed on the till and a Verifone Secura key-pad attached to its serial port and OCIUS for PC communicating with the key-pad. OCIUS should be set up to print its own receipts to file or print to the till receipt printer.

Create a file called Ocius.ini in the folder where OCIUS is installed. It should contain only the following lines:

/STARTMINIMISED

/AL

1.2 PRIAM Setup

1.2.1. CTL2

Point of Sale-pg 3-Separate prompt for payment and amount=Y

Point of Sale-pg 3-Default amount to full amount=Y

1.2.2. CCC21 OCIUS for PCs FM

Here you enter the default username and PIN for that username which the OCIUS for PC software has already set up. Commidea OCIUS can advise you of that.

If global banking is turned on, then you specify the stream that Ocius will be using in this screen and then the account ID and account number used for that stream.

Allow access to Ocius menu should be left as “N”.

Note that we pass an account ID but it is will only be a mandatory requirement in the future – you can enter “UNKNOWN” in this field.

Max Wait Time is the maximum time that PRIAM will wait for Ocius, before giving the operator a warning message. We recommend 300 (for 300 seconds). This message is only displayed in Shop Sales.

1.2.3 POSC3 or POSC9 – POS Credit Card Defaults

If you have different tills in the same shop which run different card software then use POSC9 POS Credit Card Defaults by Till. Otherwise POSC3 Credit Card Defaults is sufficient.

[pic]

1.2.4 POSC6 – Device/Till Linking

Run SYS52 Device Identifier to identify the device for your till. Then run POSC6 to set some new options for the till:

[pic]

On page 2, you need to set CC Reader type to F (Verifone Secura) and the CP_terminal IP to the IP or device name of the till.

1.3 Using OCIUS for PC with PRIAM

The usual routine is when you open the till, PRIAM logs into OCIUS, the shop does its business for the day, then at the end of the day, when you close the till, PRIAM logs out of OCIUS.

You must start OCIUS for PC each morning before you open the till. You do this by clicking on the OCIUS for PC icon on the desktop:

[pic]

This icon will show in the system tray on the Windows taskbar, indicating that OCIUS is active but minimised. This is the default for using OCIUS with PRIAM.

1.3.1 Opening a till

When you open a till at the start of the day, you should see a message such as

[pic]

This message appears because you have log into OCIUS for PC before you can use it. PRIAM does this using the settings in CCC21 OCIUS for PC FM.

1.3.2 Closing a till

When you have closed a till you will see the message:

[pic]

PRIAM has logged you out of OCIUS for PC.

If you are closing the till at the end of the day, you can then shut down OCIUS by clicking on the Shut Down button (red button) on the top right hand corner of the OCIUS application:

1.3.3. Shop Sales

1.3.3.1 Making a sale

All entry of card details is taken from the card’s chip using the Verifone key-pad. You are no longer prompted for a card number in Shop Sales screen.

[pic]

You are immediately presented with an Accept dialog:

[pic]

Click Yes to continue. PRIAM will start OCIUS for PC:

[pic]

At this point the shop sales person should ask the customer to insert their card into the Verifone key-pad and to follow the prompts on the screen. You have the usual options for bypassing PIN and manual entry of card details if there is a problem with using a card or a PIN number.

The OCIUS for PC application shows the following messages when sending and receiving data to the Commidea server:

Sending transmission….

Waiting for result

Please remove card.

At this point, the customer (or sales person) should remove the card from the key-pad.

On OCIUS for PC you get the following screens appear:

[pic]

This screen is where you print the Merchant receipt (your copy).

[pic]

This screen is where you print the Customer Receipt (the customer’s copy).

When OCIUS has completed, PRIAM will print a till receipt on the till receipt printer:

1.3.3.2 Returning goods to a shop

You do this in the shop sales screen by entering a negative quantity against items being returned. In shop sales, after entering the credit card payment method and the amount being refunded and accepting, this has the following effect in OCIUS:

The shop sales person is prompted to enter the refund PIN. You will have been advised this by Commidea OCIUS.

[pic]

At this point the customer inserts their card, then their PIN and the refund is authorised.

[pic]

OCIUS prints a receipt which the customer signs. If it is a valid signature, click Yes – Confirm Txn.

[pic]

OCIUS then prints a customer receipt which is a copy of the previous receipt but without the signature line. Click Continue if this has printed ok.

[pic]

After this the OCIUS for PC application will close. PRIAM will print a till receipt showing the amount refunded:

[pic]

1.3.3.3 Making a customer payment via a till

The customer will have one or more sales invoices needing to be paid. In POSP8, Customer Payments via Till, select the invoices to pay and for each enter the amount to be paid.

[pic]

Having entered the credit card payment method and amount and accepted, you are prompted by OCIUS for PC to enter a card into the key-pad:

[pic]

You follow the same procedure as for a sale.

1.3.3.4. Mail order with tills

Process your sales order up to the payment window. Enter a credit card payment method but leave the card number prompt blank. Press ENTER to get out the window.

[pic]

You will see message “Processing transaction through Ocius” and the Ocius for PC software will take over.

If you enter a card number in the payment window, then PRIAM assumes you intend to use ICP3 and will go online with ICP3 to authorise the transaction.

If having completed the transaction with Ocius, the customer wants to amend the sales order whilst the operator is still in order entry, you can up arrow to change the product details and re-do. But firstly Ocius will fully refund the previous transaction and then require you to enter a new card transaction. This is time consuming so it may simply be easier to process a shop return and re-enter the order.

1.3.3.5 Reservations and special orders

When you take a deposit and enter a card payment, leave the card number blank and press ENTER. The transaction should be sent to Ocius where you can process the card payment.

1.3.2 Cancelled transactions

In the event that the shop sales person needs to cancel a transaction, they can do this from OCIUS for PC by clicking Cancel Transaction. In PRIAM you will see the following message:

[pic]

You will need to re-enter a payment again.

1.3.3 Timeout

If at any time Ocius times out, because the Max Wait Time has been exceeded, you will get a message asking if you wish to continue. If you click Yes then you can continue the sale. Only click No if Ocius has timed out and you have not had a decline, reject or authorisation. Each time you click Yes, PRIAM will count down again from the Max Wait Time until the message is displayed again.

1.4 Troubleshooting

1.4.1 User not logged in when opening a till

You get a message in PRIAM when opening a till like:

[pic]

You need to close the till, cash up, then re-open. Check that you have started OCIUS for PC.

1.4.2 Opening till is hanging

If you are not getting a response from PRIAM at all when opening a till, then it is possible that OCIUS for PC has been shut down or that it has not been started before starting PRIAM.

Start it by clicking on the OCIUS for PC icon on the desktop. You may then get a blank dialog instead of the “OCIUS – Successfully logged in” message. In that case, you are advised to close the till, cash up, then re-open immediately and you should be able to log into OCIUS again.

1.4.3. Blue screen PRIAM loses focus

When opening and closing tills in blue screen PRIAM, PRIAM can lose focus. This is a problem with the way PRIAM communicates with OCIUS for PC– just click your mouse in the blue screen window to get focus back.

1.4.4 PRIAM displays “Not logged in” whilst making a sale

If this happens, then this is because you have logged out of the OCIUS for PC application or have left a till session open since the previous day and not closed the till but have shut down OCIUS overnight. Your only option is to exit the Shop Sales screen, log into OCIUS using the general username and PIN and to restart the Shop Sales screen.
