CALENDAR

The program acts as users calendar, into which the user can add reminders in the same way as in a traditional pocketcalendar.

Basic interface can be chosen among timeperiods Year, Month, Week or Day.

In Year-, Month- and Week-views the passed days are coloured light yellow, the current day light blue and the days to come white. Those day that have some markings are coloured red regardless if they are in the past or in the future.

In the Day-view all markings are seen as text those can also directly be edited.

ADDING REMINDERS

You can add reminders to the calendar eather direct to the Day view or by selecting Add command from the Reminder menu or the corresponding shortcutkey F6. From the opening Add reminder window you can do the following selections.

Date

The date when you want your reminder registered.

Time

The time when you want your reminder registered. The reminders can be given at half hour intervals and if your time is something else, it will be automatically rounded to the nearest half hour.

Reminder

The reminding text. The maximum length of the text is 100 characters.

Note

You can write your reminder direct in the calendars Day view by clicking with the mouse the line adjacent to the time that you want to add you reminder and by writing down the text in the incoming pink textfield.

REMOVING REMINDERS

You can remove reminders from the calendar by selecting the Remove command from Reminder menu or the corresponding shortcutkey F7. From the opening Remove reminder window you can do the following selections.

Remove all reminders from the calendar

This option will remove all reminders of the calendar.

Remove all reminders from day dd.m.yyyy

This option will remove all reminders from the selected day. If there are reminders on the selected day, the date color is shown red, otherwise black.

Remove selected reminders from day dd.mm.yyyy

Below this option you can see all selected day reminders as checkboxes. Select from the list those reminders that you want to remove from the calendar.

Note

You can remove reminders also directly from the calendar by wiping the target line empty in the Day view.

Warning

The removed reminders can not be restored.

PREFERENCES

You can edit programs preferences by selecting command Preferences from Program menu or the corresponding shortcutkey F12. From the opening Preferences window you can do the following selections.

Automatic reminding

Automatic reminding X days before given date. If selected the program will remind you of the upcoming reminders in the calendar X days before given date. If this checkbox is not selected the program will not remind you of any events. The default value is selected and 1 day as predays value.

Reminders automatic removal from list

Reminders automatic removal from list X days after given date. If selected the program will remove markings made in the calendar automatically X days after the given day. If not selected no markings will be removed. The default value is selected and 1 day as afterdays value.

Run program in background

Run program in background and check reminders at X minute intervals. If selected the program will upon startup browse through those reminders that are marked on the current date (=computer date) and those time is before the current time and reminds you of them. After that the program will stay running in the background and will wake up at X minute intervals to check if there are any other reminders by that time. Reminders once shown will not be shown again. With this option selected no future reminders will be shown, only reminders from the current day.

Browse through reminders once

Browse through reminders once upon Windows start and remove program then from memory. If selected the program will upon startup browse through all reminders in the calendar and remind first of current days (=computers date) events and then in a new window of possible future events. After these remindings the program will be shut down and removed from memory. The default value for this option is selected.

Note

The program has to be started with -S or -H parameter, for the remindes to be shown. This is usually done upon Windows start. By default the setup program will put one program instance with the -S parameter in the Windows Startup folder.

STARTUP PARAMETERS

The program can be given different startup parameters, those order how the program works. The following lists all the parameters and their effect to program functioning.

No parameters

When the program is started without any parameters for example "reminder20.exe" it will start in normal mode and the calendar window will be shown, where initially the current year calendar will be visible. In this mode you can add reminders to the calendar, remove them and edit program preferences. In the normal setup the program will be put without parameters in the programfolder and as on icon on the desktop.

-S

When the program is started with the -S parameter for example "reminder20.exe -S" it will start in the reminding mode and it will browse through all markings in the calendar and remind of them if necessary. After this the program will either shut itself down or stay in running in background depending on selections made in program preferences. The calendar window is not visible at any time so the calendar can't be edited in this mode. This parameter is default in the Windows startup folder program instance.

-H

When the program is started with the -H parameter for example "reminder20.exe -H" it will start in the reminding mode and it will browse through all markings in the calendar and remind of them if necessary according the selections made in program preferences. After the remindings the calendar window will be visible and the calendar can be edited in the normal manner.
