General:
This procedure allows an administrator to Reinstall Office XP.
Procedure:
Procedure to Reinstall Office XP
Make sure that the account that you are logged in with has local administrative rights.
To remove the old version:
1. Click on Start.
2. Go to Settings and click on Control Panel.
3. Double click on Add/Remove Programs.
4. Scroll down and click on “Microsoft Office XP Professional” to highlight it.
5. Click on the Remove button.
6. Click on Yes when prompted,
“Are you sure you want to remove Microsoft Office Professional from your computer?”
7. When removal is complete, close all open windows and reboot the machine.
To re-install the version:
1. Click on Start.
2. Click on Run.
3. Type: \\PWISPRDSCM30\SCCM_PACKAGES\MSOFFICEXP\SETUPPRO.EXE
4. Click on OK. This will start a wizard. Accept all the default settings and just click next on each
screen. The installation will take approximately 15 minutes.
5. Upon completion, click ok on the window and reboot the pc.
NOTE: After the reinstallation some of the Microsoft Office shortcuts which were on the quick
launch bar may be missing. The shortcut for Outlook will show up when Outlook is first
started after the reinstallation. The other icons for Powerpoint, Excel, Word, and Access
can be added by going to the Start menu and right clicking on them and dragging them
to the quick launch toolbar area. Once you let go of the mouse you will get a menu.
Click on “copy here” and the shortcut icon should then appear on the quick launch toolbar.
