How to Reset Your Password - Even if you don't know your current password As of August 2015, LAUSD's Single Sign-On Self (SSO) Service has been updated to provide additional security layers. Users will be to select a security image as part of the process of creating, changing, or resetting a password. This will now allow you to reset your password, even if you are not using the LAUSD network, i.e. you are working from home, a coffee shop, etc. Below are simple instructions to help you through the new password process. The first step to take is to visit the Self Service Console for Single Sign-on (SSO) account issues by clicking on this link. (It will open in a new window or tab) Next...Choose the role:

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR CURRENT PASSWORD Click on the second option to reset your current password to a new password, as in the case of an upcoming expiration. You must know your current password to use this option.

1. Accept the terms of the Acceptable Use Policy by checking the "I agree to the terms and condition of LAUSD, the clicking the Accept button

2. Login with your SSO account name and CURRENT password

3. Click on "Change password, however; ? If you have not selected a SECURITY IMAGE, continue to the section "Your security image." ? A series of images will appear for you to choose from. Select an image that will be easy for you to remember. Once you have selected one, it will be added to the "Change your Password" page. (You only have to do this once, unless you want to select a new one.)

4. On the "Change your Password" page, enter your CURRENT password 5. Review the PASSWORD RULES on this page to ensure the new password you have in mind can be

used. Please note that you cannot reuse a previously used password. Enter (and re-enter) your NEW password. 6. Once you click Submit, you will be returned to the launch page. You will be presented with one of the two images below to confirm or deny your success in the password reset process. If you receive the Success message, congratulations. If you receive the Error message, the reason for failure is also given. Please repeat the processes and correct error reason. 7. Once you have successfully changed your password, please Log-out

HOW TO CHANGE A FORGOTTEN PASSWORD Click on the third option to reset your forgotten password to a new password. 1. Accept the terms of the Acceptable Use Policy by checking the "I agree to the terms and condition of LAUSD, the

2. Confirm your identity by entering your account name and pressing Next

4. You will be shown several security images. If your security image is there, select it, Press NEXT

5. if not, choose "None of the Above." If you have not selected a security image, follow Steps 6 and 7 below. Otherwise, skip to Step 8.

7. Press Next 8. The system will validate the information that you provided. 9. If there is an error, you will receive the message below. Please repeat the process and correct the error.

The provided security information is not correct 10. If all information is correct, "Provide the required fields below. Password must meet the password requirements

indicated." 11. Press Submit 12. If you receive the message - Action was Successful! - Your new password has been set. Note: Some systems, including Email, may not receive the new password change immediately. Please wait at least 10 minutes and try to log in again.
