Marilyn HogueMarilyn Hogue was a successful fighter in a war she never intended to wage. Marilyn is Co-Pastor of Citychurch in Oklahoma City with her high school sweetheart, husband Richard Hogue, mother of two sons and the proud “Gigi” to SEVEN grandchildren. Though life is wonderful today, it was not so always. Her story began like most bright young Oklahoma women. She attended the University of Oklahoma where she was a member of and public relations director for the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority until her marriage to Pastor Hogue. She joined her husband at Oklahoma Baptist University and there was graduated Magna Cum Laude and named Outstanding Senior Woman. Upon her graduation, she taught English and directed the All School Play at Carl Albert High School in Midwest City, OK, before entering the Southern Baptist evangelistic ministry with her husband where she conducted major children’s crusades for eight years. In 1975, Marilyn and her husband founded MetroChurch in Edmond, OK. The church, which grew to 7000 members with 90 active ministries, was one of the first non-denominational churches in America, and recognized nationally for its ministry. During those years Marilyn formed a statewide political organization for women to fight battles for children and their education and against pornography, and hosted a segment of Pastor Hogues nationally syndicated television program, Richard Hogue Weekdays, called “A Woman’s Touch.”Marilyn moved to California with her family in 1986 to pastor a church with her husband and host the Praise Program on Trinity Broadcasting Network each week. She later joined a major public relations firm in Southern California, and then became a top producer in the largest real estate firm in South Orange County. It was during this period that Marilyn was thrust into a war to save her marriage. Richard and Marilyn experienced major marital difficulties that threatened to destroy their family and ministry. Marilyn was devastated, but quickly learned she must fight to help her husband and save her marriage. And with the support of others, she did. In response to a major prophetic word, the Hogues returned to Oklahoma in 1991 to found Citychurch in downtown OKC. While serving as Co-pastor with responsibility for the overall ministries of the church, Marilyn has developed a ministry of restoration to individuals, marriages, and families. Now, almost 20 years later, she has authored her first book, Love Wars, sharing her own story and challenging other spouses to engage the battle for their marriages. It should be released sometime this next year.Marilyn’s ministry to her church and others across the nation brings extreme encouragement and hope to the body of Christ. Marilyn and Richard have two sons: Israel, who helped his father build Citychurch and then pastored his own church, and Jeremy, who was a three year starter lineman in football for the University of Southern California and graduate of Harvard Law School, and now has his own company, Sovereign Healthcare, in Southern California, which builds and manages hospitals. Together her sons have also made Marilyn “Gigi” to seven grandchildren. ................
