Northern SeminaryPosition DescriptionTitle: Northern Live TechnicianDepartment: Library FLSA Status: Non-exempt, Part-timePosition Summary: Northern Live Technician responsibilities include reporting promptly 30 minutes before the start of class to set up equipment and start recording. Northern Live Technicians remain on duty during the class to monitor connections, control classroom equipment, and assist students with connection difficulties. After class, Technicians are responsible for uploading completed class recordings to the Seminary’s YouTube channel. Knowledge and Skills: This position requires someone who is attentive to details and committed to punctual attendance for scheduled hours. Interaction with students and faculty is a large component of this job, so an outgoing personality and interpersonal skills are also required. Previous experience with online course software and / or video management software is not required but is an advantage for anyone seeking this position.Duties and Responsibilities:Recording class sessions and assisting faculty with Northern Live technologyAssisting students with connection difficultiesTake attendanceReporting equipment failure / connection failure immediately to supervisorMonitoring students for compliance with Northern Live etiquetteInitiating class breakout sessionsTurn off and securely store classroom equipmentUpload class recordings to YouTube no later than noon on the following dayEducation and Work Experience: A completed undergraduate degree. Duties are performed indoors in a classroom environment.The employee is regularly required to sit; to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; to navigate computer programs and enter data via keyboard or equivalent means; to talk and to hear; to open doors and travel between floors by either stairs or an elevator. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Hours will range from 10 - 20 per week, between 8:00 a.m. and 10 p.m. on weekdays.
