Sign up to receive free email updates regarding Home Office: Expenses and Deductions (2010 Edition).

If you subscribe to CCH IntelliConnect, you can sign up to receive free email updates regarding this course through CCH® Tracker NewsSM.

To add a special Tracker News search for this course, simply follow the steps below.

To set up a CCH Tracker News search for this course topic:

• Go to and log in to CCH IntelliConnect.

• Click the Tracker News link or icon located on the Quick Bar.

The main Tracker News page displays on the right pane.

• Click the Add/Modify Trackers link located at the top of the left pane under the Tracker News caption (Note: if this is your first time adding Trackers, click the word here located under the Tracker News heading to open the Add New Trackers page.)

The Add New Trackers page displays on the right pane.

• Click in the checkbox next to the Federal and State Tax Highlights Tracker.

• Click the Target icon[pic] located to the left of the selected Tracker to display the “Tracker Customization” dialog box.

• Click in the checkbox next to the appropriate topic.

• Type “home office” or “business deduction” in the “Custom search terms” field.

• Click the Add Tracker(s) button.

If you have already added a Tracker while using IntelliConnect (and have already set up your Tracker delivery options), the Tracker is added to your IntelliConnect account, and to the list of Trackers shown on the left pane under the My Trackers caption.

If, however, this is the first time you have added a Tracker, follow the steps listed below to set up your Tracker News delivery options and add your first Tracker.

• Click the Delivery Options link located at the top of the Add New Trackers screen.

The Tracker News Delivery Options dialog box displays.

• Click in the checkbox next to I would like to receive Tracker News via email if you want your Tracker News results emailed to you.

• In the Email Address field, type the email address to which you want the Tracker News email sent.

• In the User Name field, type your user name (i.e. the name you want used in the Tracker News email greeting).

• Click Send, and then click OK when the confirmation box appears.

The Tracker(s) is added to your IntelliConnect account and to the list of Trackers shown on the left pane under Tracker News.

Viewing Your Tax Tracker News Updates

If you choose to receive email updates, you will receive a daily email whenever your Tax Tracker search finds new information regarding this topic. Click the hotlinked headlines to go directly to the full-text article on CCH IntelliConnect.

Your Tracker News results are also posted in the My Trackers section. To view an article, simply click the appropriate link.

Viewing Trackers via RSS feed

With IntelliConnect, you have the option of having your Tracker results delivered straight to your RSS reader. However, before you can receive Tracker feeds with your RSS reader, you must add the custom URL for the Tracker to your RSS reader.

To add a Tracker to your RSS reader:

• Click the Tracker News link located on the Quick Bar.

The main Tracker News page displays and your Trackers display in the left pane under Tracker News.

• Click the Add/Modify Trackers link.

• Click the Delivery Options link located at the top of the Add New Trackers screen.

The Tracker News Delivery Options dialog box displays.

• Copy and paste the URL displayed at the bottom of the Tracker News Delivery Options dialog box into your RSS reader.

Note: See your RSS reader help file for more detailed instructions on how to add the URL for the Tracker to your RSS reader.
