As noted above, we plan to start a daycare out of my home ...

Conceptualizing a Business

At Little Beaver Daycare, our target customers are two-income, families who value the quality of childcare provided for their children, between the ages of 4 months to 12 years and reevaluating as the need arises. Little Beaver Daycare will open for business on June 1, 2009, starting with an initial enrollment of 6 children.

"Some of the best years in life are the time spent as a child and later our collegiate years." In a society of working parents, we sometimes forget how special and ever changing those early years are.

At Little Beavers daycare we provide care for children in a family-style, loving environment.  The children will experience music, books, limited television programs/DVD's, exercise and open communication.  Each family will be provided with reports to communicate schedules, routines, any incidences or other important information.

What makes us at Little Beaver unique?

• We are a daycare that implements recognized early childhood curriculum and programs.

• We are a daycare that offers the option of “extended hours” not adding unnecessary stress to parents.

• We look at the needs of children as young as 4 months in a safe, healthy and stimulating environment.

• We provide age appropriate after-school programs that will stimulate a child’s development.

• We have an ideal location in Beaverton that is accessible to working parents.

Mission

We are a leader in childcare, which influence lifelong learning. Little Beavers mission is to provide the highest quality child care services that compliments the home by providing a secure and loving environment while focusing on high quality, individualized and developmentally appropriate educational activities

Vision

Little Beavers will be a place where children are cared for and encouraged to grow and develop at their own pace; to develop solutions, which will enable us to grow the number of children and families we serve and to be, recognized as a highly regarded daycare in the Beaverton area?

Values

• Value and respect the needs and personalities of each child.

• Believe a child’s response to life, is play through which she/he learns.

• Believe that a well-equipped and creative play yard encourages a child’s development.

Little Beavers daycare admits all children regardless of race, nationality, or religious background.  At this daycare I welcome any exchange of information that you believe will help better serve your child's needs. Little Beavers daycare welcomes any parent who has time and wishes to share his or her talents by helping with various projects. It is my goal to meet the needs of both you and your child.  Your child will be cared for under safe and sanitary conditions, and will learn and develop in a loving atmosphere.  I believe in an open door policy.  This means that the door is always open for you and your child to discuss any issues/concerns.  You are welcome to "drop in" at any time to visit and observe your child and his or her interactions in my home. Feedback is welcome and appreciated.

Mission, vision and values are supposed to be the bright light of strategic planning; organizations set their strategic roadmap and then align their everyday priority setting.  “When a company collaboratively decides to express its vision, beliefs, goals, values and mission in words, it will give direction to everyone in the company” (McNamara, 1997-2008). Which makes it important to involve all employees working there, giving them the opportunity to let you know how the see the company. This allows them to let you know what is important to them, and things the company must not lose sight of as it continues on.
