Teach the Class

[pic]

Our Class Creed states that “we believe that each one of us has special talents and that the talents of each of us help all of us.” We’ve been learning about each other’s special talents all year and now each of you is going to have the chance to be the teacher!

Pick something that you would like to teach the class. It doesn’t have to be anything tricky, just something simple that you know how to do really well. Here are some ideas, but get creative:

• how to draw your favorite animal

• how to dribble a basketball

• how to make origami art

• how to take a picture with a camera

Once you’ve picked your talent, you will write step-by-step instructions on an index card to help you teach the class. Make sure they are clear directions because you will be reading them to your students. We’ve practiced writing paragraphs that explain, so you should be ready! You may bring in supplies to have the class try your talent with you, or you may read your instructions and have the class try it at home. You may also bring in pictures or videos showing your talent.

This project is a fun way to end our year together. It is due Friday, May 26th.

Have fun and I look forward to learning from you!

Example Instructions:

I am going to teach you how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. First, you take out two pieces of your favorite bread. I like to use honey wheat bread. Then, you take a knife and carefully spread peanut butter on one slice of bread. Next, you wipe off the knife so you don’t get peanut butter in the jelly jar. When the knife is clean, you carefully spread your favorite flavor of jelly on the other slice of bread. I like strawberry jelly, but you can use grape or any other flavor you like. Then, you put the two slices of bread together so that the jelly and peanut butter sides touch. Finally, cut your sandwich to make it easier to eat. You can cut it into 2 triangles, 4 squares, or even use a cookie cutter to make fun shapes. Now you are ready to enjoy your delicious lunch!
