What is the title of your book - COURSES

1. What is the title of your book? Who is the author? What genre is your book?

2. What are the three most important selections in the reading so far? Record the page numbers where they occur and provide an explanation for why you consider them to be pivotal.

3. What do you believe to be motifs and symbols so far? For nonfiction, symbols still work! What type of imagery is the author using to reach the audience? What type of rhetorical devices? Explain the effect and record page numbers for at least three examples.

4. What are three quotes worth memorizing from this set's reading? Record the quotes and page numbers where they appear. Explain each quote's significance (why you chose it). Be prepared to share these quotes in class.

5. What are three inferences (reading between the lines, opinion based) you've made during last week’s reading? Remember, an inference is not something said directly in the book. Instead, it is your OPINION supported by evidence in the book. It could be a conclusion you’ve drawn about a character or idea. Each inference should have TWO quotes from the text to support your answer. Record the page number next to each quote.
