JOB DESCRIPTION

Railroad Track Foreman

Tram Construction, an established railroad construction company in Garrison, Kentucky, seeks an experienced Track Foreman to add to our growing team. The Track Foreman is responsible for the direction of crews involved in the construction, maintenance, and repair of railroad track.

Essential Functions: ? Direct and manage daily activities of a crew related to duties involved in the construction, maintenance,

inspection, and repair of railroad tracks ? Enforce compliance with safety procedures ? Establish line of communication with customers to meet safety protocols & maintain client satisfaction ? Maintain accurate records of daily tasks, crew time, job costs, and production reports ? Fulfill duties (operator, laborer, etc.) as needed to keep jobs moving forward ? Perform other duties as directed

Qualifications: Five years of experience in the railroad industry/track maintenance combined with a minimum of one year of experience in a supervisory or management role.

Drug Test Required Valid Driver's License Required

Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of ? Track structure, its components, and how they interrelate ? Methods, techniques, and tools used in track repair and maintenance ? Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulations and practices as they relate to maintenance of way ? Occupational hazards and safety procedures involved in railroad construction

Ability to ? Operate a variety of equipment, including loaders and specialty railroad equipment ? Use hand tools, power tools, and hydraulic equipment ? Provide physical labor to place crossties, tie plates, track spikes, angle bars, and turnouts ? Communicate effectively with others ? Apply concepts of basic shop math, calculate figures and amounts such as area, circumference, distance ? Supervise and train personnel, directing them to accomplish specific tasks on a daily basis ? Adapt to a fast-paced environment, multi-task, prioritize, and apply troubleshooting skills ? Work outside in all weather conditions ? Work overtime and weekends periodically ? Travel occasionally

Physical Requirements: ? Heavy work, lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds ? Frequent walking and standing ? Frequent stooping/bending/kneeling/crouching/balanceing/climbing ? Demonstrate auditory and visual acuity/tracking/inspection
