Patient Instructions
CryoTherapy Unit Aircast Cryo/Cuff IC
Cryotherapy Use:
• Apply immediately after surgery and wear at home during your recovery and rehab period.
• Use cryotherapy unit as instructed by your physician.
• Continue using this product to control any pain and swelling. The recovery period is different for each individual.
• This cooling unit is a great tool to use in conjunction with your physical therapy. Do a 30 minute treatment before and after for best results.

Application Instructions:
• Connect blue tube to cooler, add water to the water line then add ice. Lay the insulated disk on top of ice and close the lid.
• Position the EMPTY cuff in the appropriate position.
• Raise the cooler no more than 15” above the cuff for approximately 30 seconds while the cuff fills.
• Correctly position cooler- place it on a stable surface, the base of the cooler should be even with the cuff.
• Turn cooler on- plug power supply into wall outlet and connect cord to lid.
• To refill cooler- when ice has melted, unplug the cooler and repeat the above steps.
Tips:
• It is NECESSARY to have a protective barrier between the skin and the cooling pad. A wash cloth or towel works very well.
• A block of ice (freeze a half gallon container of water) or cubed ice will provide longer cold water temperatures
• Drain the cuff completely between use
• To avoid excessive pressure during use, do not raise the cooler higher than 15” above cuff
• Cooler cleaning- use mild detergent to clean cooler and lid as needed. Do not submerge lid under water
Contraindications:
• Avoid using this cooling unit if you have any compromised circulatory or neurological deficiencies.
• Avoid using this product if you have Raynaud’s or other allergy to cold.[pic]
