Checklist for Annotated Bibliography

Checklist for Annotated Bibliography

❑ Do you have the handout for this assignment?

❑ Do you have the correct title for each source? (see worksheet #1)

❑ Did you remember to double-space everything? Do not put an extra space between annotations.

❑ Do not number the annotations.

❑ Do you have enough annotations? I need 10 total sources and annotations.

❑ Did you follow capitalization rules? (see worksheet #1)

❑ Did you follow the indention rule? (see the annotation handout)

❑ Within each annotation, did you include a summary of the source?

❑ Within each annotation, did you include an assessment/ critique of the source?

❑ Within each annotation, did you include a reflection of how the source is helpful or used in your paper?

❑ Check for length. Annotations were at least long enough to fill a half page each. (they can be longer)

❑ All sources in the annotated bibliography alphabetized by the authors’ last name. In cases where a source doesn’t have an author, the citation will begin with the title. Articles and prepositions do not count in the alphabetizing process.

❑ If your source has no author, begin your citation with the name of the essay/article/book/etc. Note that in APA, your citation does not begin with the date. If the “Associated Press” wrote your article/essay, this means that it is without an author (you would not write Associated Press as the author’s name).
