There are three ways to adapt an MHA national press release for affiliate purposes:

Option 1—

Distribute national press release as-is to your local media contacts, with email message indicating “The following press release was just distributed by Mental Health America. [MHA of ___] is an affiliate of MHA. Feel free to contact the media office at MHA or [affiliate] for additional information.

Option 2—

1) Use affiliate logo in top right corner of main page.

2) Use local affiliate contact information.

3) Cut and paste headline, subhead, body of release.

4) Add quote from affiliate to press release, but do not remove content or quote from MHA national. Reference you are an affiliate of Mental Health America.

5) Add additional local statistic(s) if appropriate.

6) Add affiliate boilerplate under MHA boilerplate below.

7) Distribute with affiliate contact information to local media contacts.

Option 3—

1) Under affiliate logo, draft your own headline, subhead.

2) Write your own text for body of release.

3) Drop in quote from national press release from MHA president and CEO Paul Gionfriddo.

4) Remove MHA boilerplate, replace with affiliate boilerplate.

5) Send to Erin Wallace, Senior Director of Communications and Marketing, for quick message consistency approval.

6) Distribute with affiliate contact information to local media contacts.
