HEALTHCARE PARTNERS OF NEVADAPOSITION DESCRIPTION Job Title: Human Resources Business Partner Division: Human Resources Reports To: Director, Human Resources FLSA Status: Exempt Date Approved: April, 2013 OVERALL JOB PURPOSEPerforms Human Resources related duties carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, leave of absences, recognition, workers compensation, and HRIS. Interprets, recommends and administers DaVita Healthcare Partners and Human Resource policies and procedures to promote positive employee relations within the organization and minimize risk to the organization.MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTSEducation: A bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field or combination of experience and educationProfessional in Human Resources (PHR) or SPHR certification preferredExperience: Minimum of three years’ experience in Human Resources. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point) Excellent verbal, written communication, and listening skills.Excellent organizational skills.Ability to create and transcribe comprehensive, accurate documentation Computer literate with strong internet resource skillsDetail orientated with excellent organizational skills Ability to work with all levels in the organizationDemonstrates the ability to take initiative, ask questions, prioritize, and multi-task Working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, employment laws and regulations to include FMLAESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESConsistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate DaVita HCP ’ commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with each and every internal and external customer. Conducts investigations, documentation, analyses and writes comprehensive fact finding reports on employee relations issues, workers compensation, LOA (leave of absence) to include FMLA and any other required documentation. Interprets and applies DaVita HCP policies and procedures, past practices and applicable federal and state laws and regulations to decisions impacting employer-employee relations; makes action plan recommendations to management.Administers all DaVita HCP policies and procedures pertaining to employee relations practices, which may include but are not limited to: Leaves of Absence, Terminations, Performance Management, Payroll notifications, workforce reductions, site relocations, etc.Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing. Mentors managers and supervisors to enhance their performance management, employee communications and other management skills; prepares training materials and facilitates workshops to orient new managers and supervisors on DaVita HCP and HR policies and procedures (e.g., Performance Management, FMLA, legal compliance, etc.)Works with management staff on employee Performance Improvement Plans (PIP); obtains approval from and provides feedback to HR management regarding PIP and Annual Performance Assessments for non-provider employees.Administers the Unemployment and State Disability functions; attends unemployment hearings, along with DaVita HCP’ third party Administrator as required.Prepares responses to claims filed with state and federal regulatory agencies (e.g., EEOC, Labor Board, etc.) for review by HR management; gathers documents required for discovery in employment litigation matters at the request of the HR management and/or outside legal counsel.Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. Generates HRIS to measure and evaluate exit interviews, voluntary and involuntary turnover data, etc.Coordinates and manages DaVita Healthcare Partners employee recognition programs.Responds to general employee requests for information on company programs.Recommends new processes and procedures within the employee services function to promote department efficiencies and realize cost savings.Coordinates company-wide programs (e.g., Service Award Programs and other employee recognition initiatives).Uses, protects, and discloses HCP patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.Performs additional duties as assigned.
