Adding Pactor III frequencies to your AirMail Frequency List

Adding Pactor III frequencies to your AirMail Frequency List.

Beginning with AirMail beta version 3.0.870 there is support for Pactor III. Pactor III will use dedicated frequencies and require specific setup of the PTC II/Iie/IIpro which AirMail will do when a Pactor III frequency is requested and licensing is enabled.

For those who have an intent to use this super fast and reliable mode, below are a brief instructions for updating the PMBO frequency list which now contains most PMBO Pactor III frequencies. A "#" after the frequency indicates a frequency is Pactor III only. It will NOT appear in the Terminal Module unless the Airmail user has the Pactor III upgrade installed and working. Airmail has automatic P III parameters set when it sees the # after a frequency (1500 Hz tone center on USB with WIDE or no filtering.) You cannot make a Pactor I or Pactor II connection on a Pactor III designated frequency.

Instructions for updating the Freq List in AirMail from a downloaded Bulletin:

1. Update your Catalog List if it is not current from Airmail's Message Index.

2. Click Window, Catalogs.

3. Under "Global" open folder ZS5S_BULLS.

4. Check "PMBO" (once) to request.

5. Go back to message index and connect to a WL2K PMBO to request the new Freq. List.

6. When the request comes back you will have the requested PMBO bulletin in the Airmail Inbox.

7. Highlight the message in the inbox (turns blue.)

8. Click Airmail menu "Tools" and then "Make Frequency List."

9. Click "Text Format" tab.

10. Click "Update." This parses the list ...Calls now Red, Frequencies Blue.

11. If you wish to Add/Remove calls to your pull down list click "Freq list" tab.

12. Click "Save."

13. Click "OK."

14. P III freqs are designated by the "#"

Warning: If you do NOT have the purchased license for Pactor III and Intend to ONLY use the 20 available demo connects, be SURE you keep your latest Pactor II firmware to reload back into the SCS TNC.
