Fr. Tom Morgan

Dear Friends: We would like to sincerely thank all those who have contributed to the Catholic Ministry Appeal and assisted in helping St. Jerome meet our goal of $187,449. We are currently at 71% of our goal. We are almost at our goal. If you have not yet contributed to the CMA, we invite you to do so. Together, through the Catholic Ministry Appeal, we respond to the needs of our local communities and support Catholics throughout their lives. With your gift, you are nurturing spiritual life, embracing God's call to serve and accompanying missionary disciples in the Diocese of St. Petersburg. In the spirit of faith and mission, please consider making a commitment to the Catholic Ministry Appeal for the Diocese of St. Petersburg. See page 7 for more on our current status. Your gift supports:

+ Catholic Schools + Marriage and Family Life + Catholic Charities + Priest Retirement and Clergy Care + Faith Formation + Worship and Liturgical Celebrations + Seminarian Education and more!

To make a donation to the 2022 Catholic Ministry Appeal: Once again, on behalf of all those who are assisted by our efforts to support the CMA, we thank you greatly. Sincerely yours in Christ, Fr. Tom Morgan

We are grateful to our Spirit Singers for leading us in song at Mass on Easter Sunday!

Understanding the Mass: Prayer after Communion

53. The prayer after the communion is not a prayer of thanksgiving since this is the nature of the eucharistic prayer, particularly in its preface. It is a prayer asking for the spiritual effects of the eucharist. "The priest petitions for the effects of the mystery just celebrated, and by their acclamation, Amen, the people make the prayer their own" (GI no. 56k).

NEXT SUNDAY'S SCRIPTURE READINGS

1st Reading: Acts 13:14, 43-52 Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 100:1-2, 3, 5 2nd Reading: Revelation 7:9, 14b-17 Gospel: John 10:27-30

LIFELINE & YOUTH MINISTRY

Lifeline Needs Your Generosity

Last week, Lifeline served 85 families comprised of 296 people. Parishioners donated 251 bags of food for a total of 812 bags so far this month. The recent record numbers of people coming for assistance have seriously depleted our food supply. As food prices continue to increase and supply chains are strained, we are continually in need of the non-perishable items listed here. We thank all for your continued generosity.

? Boxed macaroni & cheese ? Boxed mashed potatoes ? Beef stew ? Hearty canned soups ? Canned pork & beans ? Peanut butter ? Jellies & jams

Canned vegetables (corn, beans, carrots) Canned tuna/ chicken/turkey Pasta/spaghetti Pasta sauce Canned fruit Rice (2 lb bags) Cereal

Donations can be left at the Chapel which is open 24 hours a day or can be brought to the Church on Sundays or at Daily Mass. Bins are located inside the entrances of the Church. The need continues to be incredibly high. We thank all for your continued kindness!!
