This Sunday we pray for those who will receive the sacrament of Confirmation in our parishes. May the seven-fold gifts of the Holy Spirit abide with them.

Isaiah 11:1-4 A shoot shall come out from the stump of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots. The spirit of the Lord shall rest on him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. His delight shall be in the fear of the Lord.

He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide by what his ears hear; but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth;

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR PAPAL VISIT

Volunteer coordination for the Alberta portion of Pope Francis' visit will be led by Mary-Ann Provencal. A Volunteer Office for Edmonton and area events will be functional in a few weeks. Currently, we are looking for volunteers to assist during this planning and organization time. Interested applicants can fill out the online application, offering their time, experience and skills for this exciting and historic project. The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul has a collection for food and financial donations the FIRST weekend of each month (except July) at both Assumption and Resurrection churches. (NOT THE FIRST AND THIRD WEEKENDS) Our next collection dates are: August 6, 7.

Youth Camp 2022

We are so excited to announce that in 2022, a team of youth and camp ministry veterans will be hosting Catholic Youth Camps in Camp Oselia on Wabamun Lake. Three weeks jam-packed with epic games, sports, swimming, laughter, great food, learning about the faith and prayer. Savio Week (youth entering grades 10-12 in September) Monday, July 25--Friday, July 29, 2022. Encounter Week (youth entering grades 4-6 in September) Monday, August 1-Friday, August 5, 2022 Our Lady of Victory Week (youth entering grades 7-9 in September) Monday, August 22-Friday, August 26, 2022 For those interested the cost for a week of camp this year is $295 per camper per week. Grade 10-12 students will also have the opportunity to volunteer as a junior counselor for one of the other weeks in summer.
