“EACH DAY IS THE LORD’S”

“EACH DAY IS THE LORD’S”

PS. 118:19-29

INTRO. When we think of a day, we think of it as a 24 hour period of time. We say things like--"I've got a day's work ahead of me" or “I'LL talk to you again in a couple days." We fill our days with so much activity that sometimes we forget whose day it really is!

It tells us in our text in v. 24, That “This is the day which the LORD hath made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.” If you could go back to the original manscript to the time when the Psalmist was inspired to pen these words—“This is the day”, you would see that the word “day” is from a Hebrew word which means “a period of time, not a

literal 24 hour period.

In 2 Peter 3:8, Peter says, “But, Beloved, be not ignorant of this one

thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a

thousand years as one day.” The word “day” Peter used is the same

Greek form of the word used in Psalm 118:24. So, with the Lord,

“Day” means “a period or length of time.”

So, considering that each day belongs to the Lord and is the Lord's,

What are you going to do with the Lord's Day?
