How do I logon?

OWA is hosted on a secure server that requires you to enter your Network, UserID and password. You do not need a special ID or password ... use the same logon ID and password you use while on the network, at work.

Example:

Domain\user name: corp\UserID

Password: network password

When logging in, what is the difference between Premium and Basic?

The Premium client gives you the full version of the new OWA interface, whereas the Basic client provides a cut-down version with fewer features. The Basic client is somewhat faster due to it offering fewer features, which will help those still using slower dial-up connections to their OWA mailbox.

When logging in, what is the difference between Public or Shared computer and Private Computer?

The Public or shared computer option is for those situations where you are accessing OWA from a non-trusted network, such as an Internet cafe or other public area.

The Private computer option assumes you are accessing OWA from a trusted computer, such as a computer within your office, dorm room, or your home.

The difference between the two options is how long the inactivity timeout will last. With the Public or shared computer option, the timeout is 15 minutes by default. With the Private computer option, the timeout is 24 hours by default. As always, remember to close your browser window when you have finished your email session to prevent unauthorized access to your email.

How do I logout?

When you finish using Outlook Web Access, be sure to click [pic] Log Off button in the toolbar, and then close all browser windows. Logging off helps prevent someone else from using the computer to access your mailbox. Even if you plan to continue using the computer to visit other Web sites, click Log Off and close all browser windows. Once you have logged off you will not be able to return to your mailbox unless you re-enter your login information.

IS OWA secure?

Notice the https:// at the beginning of the URL?  The "s" at the end of the http means you're using a secure Internet channel. But remember, it's only secure as long as you're the only one who knows your password!

What Internet Browser should I use?

You can use Outlook Web Access with Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator Web browsers from many UNIX, Apple Macintosh, or Microsoft Windows-based computers. To use the complete set of features available with Outlook Web Access, use Internet Explorer 6 or later.

Why don't I see all of my email messages?

OWA displays about 25 messages on a screen. You can move to the next screen by clicking on the arrow to the right of the field at the top of the screen. [pic]

While I am using Outlook Web Access, I returned to the logon screen?

[pic]

As a security feature Outlook Web Access (OWA) will time-out after 15 minutes of inactivity. That means unless your computer accesses the server within 15 minutes, it will lose its connection. You will need to re-enter your login information to access the server, read an email, check for new mail, send something, display a different folder, etc.

Am I able to use Out of Office Assistant?

Yes, The Out of Office Assistant is available by clicking [pic] icon in the Navigation Pane. To Enable click I'm currently out of the office and In the text box, type the message you want people to receive when they send you e-mail messages while you're away.

To disable the Out of Office Assistant, click I'm currently in the office.

Why can't I see new messages arriving at my mailbox?

When new mail arrives you receive a notification on the bottom right hand corner.

OWA does not poll the server continually; therefore you will not be able to see new incoming mails immediately. To check for new mails you may click on the [pic] "Check for New Messages" button or F5 key to manually poll the server.

Am I able to Access the Public Folders?

Yes, by clicking on the Public Folders Icon [pic] in the Navigation Pane it will allow you to view and access the public folders.

Who can I contact if I am unable to establish a VPN connection?
