Resident Appreciation Flyers - Circus Theme

MEMBERSHIP APPRECIATION WEEK

When our company was brainstorming for the theme of our MEMBER APPRECIATION WEEK this year, we decided to piggyback off the BRAINSTORMING theme…a Circus.

Resident appreciation week is no new news. Many of these ideas are not ideas, but this is a great example of how we utilize the brainstorming ideas gathered at Brainstorming and put them all together for one fun filled week at all our communities.

You will find all of the tools included for a successful week that your residents will love and remember. And don’t forget to add the ideas you could incorporate form this years theme of CIRCUS.

Have fun!

Theme: A circus

Slogan: “We have the Greatest Members on Earth.”

Decorations: Spread your enthusiasm and spirit around the property and decorate!

• Circus Balloons- a large decorative circus balloon (like the ones you see at a car dealership). Place at the front entrance of your community. We rented a clown, which also helped with traffic for the week.

The cost is anywhere from $100 to $500 for the week.

• Banners- Use bright colors and place one at each entrance and also in the clubhouse. We used yellow and red. Put the slogan on the banner…”We have the Greatest Members on Earth.”

The cost is $25 to $125 per banner depending on the size.

• Balloons- LOTS of balloons inside the clubhouse and around the property…everyone loves balloons and it is an attention grabber. Rent a helium tank for the week and change the balloons every day.

Cost for the tank is $25-$45 plus the cost of balloons. We used yellow and red balloons.

Get In The Spirit: Career Apparel

• In order to get into the spirit of the week, the company bought the leasing and management teams bright tie-dyes with large red hearts in the middle of them. They paired the shirts with clean, pressed dark jeans. This was a nice break for the staff since they wear professional career apparel every day.

• Buttons- the leasing and maintenance teams also wore heart shaped buttons that said

” We Love Our Members.”

• The maintenance team also helped during this week and placed a “Gummie Life Savers” with every service request. We loved the bright colors of the candy!

Preparation: Helpful hints for a successful week

• Plan a month ahead of time so that you can order all of your supplies needed for the week.

• Make sure the maintenance and office teams are properly staffed every day to be able to accomplish your goals.

Calendar of Events

Day One: Brown Bag Breakfast

• The staff passed out brown bag breakfast to the members of our community. They dressed up as clowns and greeted the members as they left the community for work in the morning.

• The breakfast consisted of an Otis Spunkmeyer muffin, juice and a napkin placed in a brown bag with a sticker placed on the front that said “ Thank you for being the GREATEST MEMBER on Earth” (the labels were in bright neon colors that were made on the computer).

Day Two: Join Us Under the “Big Top”

• The staff set-up a hostess stand at each mail kiosk, which consisted of a table, chair, and balloons. A leasing consultant greeted members as they came to the mail kiosk and took service request. We also handed out candy and the calendar of events for the week. The members really appreciated us taking their service requests.

Day Three: I Scream You Scream, We all Scream for Ice Scream.

• What makes people smile? FREE ICE CREAM! We rented an ice cream truck that toured the communities and gave out free ice cream. The ice cream truck came with a wide selection of ice cream sounds…all the members had to do was listen for the bell!

• One of our team members dressed up as a clown to pass out the ice scream and announce, “We have the greatest members on Earth” through the truck speaker.

Day Four: Tame Your Thirst with a Beverage

• The leasing staff greeted the members when they came home from work with a cold coca-cola and a smile! The cokes were placed in a huggie with the company’s logo on it. We also attached a coupon for a pizza from one of our vendors.

Day Five: Surprise!

• The maintenance team got into the spirit of the week and delivered a surprise to each member. They placed animal crackers on their doors with a label on the package of crackers that said, “We Have the Greatest Members on Earth.”

Day Six: Member Appreciation Party

• Top the week off with a party dedicated for your residents…let them know that you truly appreciate them! We took our community and turned the pool area into a circus! We had snow cone machines, cotton candy machines, hot dogs, popcorn, beverages, face painters and of course a MAGICIAN! Depending on your budget, you could do just about anything with the party.

Day Seven: Show Time

• We couldn’t forget about Dumbo! We featured Dumbo to stay in the circus theme and showed the movie all day in the clubhouse!

• Free Popcorn for all of the members!
