(ii) Themes The IQAC formulated different proposals targeting quality enhancement of the institution in its meeting and forwarded the proposals in the form of suggestions to the authority so that they can implement those according to the capacity of the institution. IQAC suggested completing the construction work of 1st Floor on the top of the Canteen and Xerox Centre for NSOU. IQAC suggested for opening BCA (General), Nutrition (Genl.), Physiology (Genl.), Physics (Honours) and PG courses in Bengali and Zoology. Its also suggested to complete the work of Outdoor Stadium and to start the work of Indoor Stadium (Sports Hall). Its also suggested for opening NCC Unit of the College and to form an ECO Club under the supervision of Geography Dept. IQAC suggested for implementing COSA system for online payment of salary as per G.O. of Govt. of West Bengal. It also suggested to purchase Land adjacent to Outdoor Stadium of the College. It also suggested for taking steps for completion of the Service Book of the staff of the College. It also suggested to start a Study Centre of IGNOU in the College. It also suggested to approach to UGC for introducing Vocational Courses at the College. 2.14 Significant Activities and contributions made by IQAC 2.15 Plan of Action by IQAC/Outcome The plan of action chalked out by the IQAC in the beginning of the year towards quality enhancement and the outcome achieved by the end of the year *Plan of ActionAchievementsIQAC suggested for extension of affiliation for BCA (Genl.), Nutrition (Genl.), Physiology (Genl.) and PG Courses in Bengali & Zoology.The University Authority extended affiliation for opening Physics (Hons.) and PG courses in Bengali.IQAC suggested for opening Vocational Courses in Food Processing and Retail Management at the college with the assistance of UGC. The College approached to the UGC for having Grant for opening Vocational Courses in the prescribed pro forma within due time but sanctioning letter not yet received. IQAC suggested to follow Academic Calendar as prepared by V.U. The College followed academic calendar as prepared V.U. and took five class tests for Honours subjects and two class tests for General subjects.4. It is suggested to prepare annual budget for good financial governance. 4. Annual budget was prepared and followed.5. IQAC suggested for approaching State Govt. for sanctioning and filling up teaching and non-teaching post and also to recruit necessary part-time teachers for running academic activities properly. 5. The College authority approached to the State Govt. to fill-up the sanctioned vacant post of teaching and non-teaching staff. It also approaches to the State Govt. for creation of teaching post for the Dept. of Music and Physical Education. The College authority appointed 15 contractual teachers and 04 guest teachers for different department.6. IQAC suggested encouraging teachers for upgrading qualification and updating knowledge.6. The college authority helps teachers by permitting them to use library and laboratory for their research work and sanctioned study leave and special leave to the teachers who attended Ph.D. course work, Orientation and Refreshers Courses and other teachers are allowed to join different seminars organized by the other colleges and universities.7. IQAC suggested encouraging and extending co-operation for research work by the teachers.7. Teachers are encouraged and extended co-operation by the college by sanctioning them Study Leave providing infrastructural facilities of the college like Library, Laboratory etc. 8. It has opportunities to make suggestions at the time of change of syllabus for which sometimes Teachers’ Council sit together. Some other times suggestions from departments or from individual teachers are also sent. Teachers who are members of Board of Studies of University take active role in formulation of curriculum.6.3.1 Curriculum Development Examination and evaluation is done as per academic calendar. Five internal class tests for honours subjects and two internal class tests for general subjects are done in a year. Internal Assessment Marks, 10 for each 100 marks paper, are given after evaluating internal class tests.
