To Whom It May Concern:

Kindly accept this statement of assurance my son/daughter, (his/her name), is currently being home educated by me, (your name), his mother, and has been doing so since (date you started homeschooling). We anticipate he/she will graduate on (day and date).

[Note: The following two paragraphs describe how I phrased our curriculum, as we are eclectic homeschoolers in Chicago, IL. You may want to adjust this part to meet your state’s standards and form of education.)

The curriculum we have used has been of my own prerogative, following the both the guidelines of the Chicago Public Schools as well as the Illinois State Board of Education as a private school. We eclectically incorporate the Montessori method, the student-led method and the Charlotte Mason method into our studies, in order to accentuate retention of information provided.

Books used have included dozens of pieces of literature, from classical to contemporary, many of which are normally enjoyed by students enrolled at prestigious universities. We have also utilized various educational cable programs, taken dozens of field trips and of course researched at libraries and the Internet. In regards of traditional textbooks, only Saxon Mathematics have formally been in use, though many others have been explored.

I do hope this statement as well as the transcript developed fulfills all necessary requirements so my son/daughter can be further evaluated for enlistment. It has been his/her dream to enlist since he was very young, and I hope I have done my best to ensure his/her dream becomes a reality.

With warm regards,
