The Illinois Certification Board (ICB) and the Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (IDHS/DASA) cordially invite you to participate in the summit on The Role of Recovery Community Organizations in Illinois.
When: Monday, March 19, 2018, 8:30am – 4:30pm
Where: Illinois Certification Board’s Spring Conference
Westin Chicago Northwest
400 Park Boulevard
Itasca, IL 60143
Recovery community organizations (RCOs) are independent, non-profit entities led and governed by people in recovery, family members, friends and allies. RCOs focus on long-term recovery from substance use disorders. IDHS/DASA has supported recovery support services through Access to Recovery (ATR), a federally-funded program that provided clients with access to non-traditional recovery support services that helped them break free from their use of alcohol and other drugs. Beyond ATR, DASA has piloted other recovery support services including peer recovery support interns and other opportunities for recovery coaching. This session will focus on what is needed to enhance recovery support services across the state by supporting RCOs to meet their singular goal to enhance the quantity and quality of support available to people seeking and experiencing long-term recovery from addiction. Current RCOs, organizations interested in becoming an RCO, SUD treatment providers interested in collaborating with RCOs, people in recovery, family members, friends and allies are invited to participate in this informative and interactive session.
