1. What courses are being offered in the Wintersession? Typically, general education or major-specific lower level courses are offered in the wintersession. To view courses offered in the Wintersession: 1) Sign in to portal using SE Key 2) Choose "Student SS" tab 3) Click "Look-Up Classes" 4) Select the Spring 2021 term and click "Submit" 5) Click the "Advanced Search" button 6) Highlight all the subject fields with your mouse 7) In the Part of Term field, select "Wintersession" 8) Click the "Section Search" button

2. How do I know if the course is for the Wintersession or regular the Spring semester? Wintersession courses will have a `Z' before the section number. These courses are listed as meeting all day, every day, but for online sections there are no formal meeting times ? you can access the course through our LMS) anytime you want.

3. How many courses can I take during the Wintersession? Students are limited to 1 course during Wintersession. The Wintersession is part of the spring 2021 semester; any course a student takes during the Wintersession will be counted as part of their spring schedule.

4. When can I enroll in a Wintersession class? How do I get a registration PIN for the Wintersession? Enrollment in the Wintersession begins on November 2nd, 2020 and follows the priority registration date schedule for the spring 2021 semester. Use your spring 2021 registration PIN to register for and drop Wintersession classes.

5. Can I use my financial aid to pay for a Wintersession class? Yes. To be eligible for financial aid for courses taken during the Wintersession, students need to enroll in the spring semester and comply with all spring semester financial aid requirements. Wintersession courses are considered part of a student's spring course load for determining financial aid eligibility. For more specific information, contact Student Financial Services at sfs@semo.edu or (573) 651-2253. Students who will have additional expenses associated with a study abroad program over the Wintersession may contact Sarah Niswonger in Student Financial Services to determine if any additional financial assistance is available to cover the additional costs associated with the program.

6. When will payment for a Wintersession class be due? Payment for a Wintersession class will follow the regular payment schedule for the spring semester. Spring billing statements are sent out mid-December, and payment is due January 4th, 2021. You can review your account details, enroll in an Installment Payment Plan (IPP), or make payment through the student portal. 7. Can I use a computer at one of the regional campuses to login to my Wintersession class? The regional campuses will be closed from December 23rd at noon through January 3rd and will open back up on January 4th, so it is not advisable to rely on computer labs at the facilities.

8. Can I use a Wintersession class as a prerequisite for another spring class? Yes. You can take a Wintersession course to fulfill prerequisite requirements for courses in the regular spring term.

9. Can I take a Wintersession class to fulfill my last requirement for fall 2020 graduation? No. A Wintersession class cannot be used to qualify for graduation in the fall 2020. 11. How do I contact Tech Support during the Wintersession? The University is closed from December 24th through January 3rd over the winter break. 13. What if I want to drop my Wintersession class? The portal should be operational throughout the Wintersession except for a short-scheduled maintenance period. If you want to drop your Wintersession course and it is not past the drop deadline, simply go to the portal and use the Add/Drop Classes function on the Student tab. You will need your spring PIN to drop the class, so make sure you save it; your academic advisor will not be available during the break to provide your spring PIN. NOTE: Please pay close attention to the refund schedule for dropping classes. Specific dates and deadlines can be found on the Academic Calendar at as well as the Student Financial Calendar at .

14. How do I get my books for a Wintersession class? Please Note: Instructions may change due to the fluid nature of the current Covid-19 pandemic, please refer to our website for the most up to date information. There are two ways to get your rental textbooks - 1) You can order rental textbooks online through textbook rental website ? or 2) You can pick up rental books in person beginning November 16, 2020 (if books are available) in the basement of Kent Library. (You must have your Southeast ID and a copy of your schedule.) Textbook Rental will be closed November 26-27, 2020 and December 23, 2020 ? January 1, 2021. The Monday following finals falls on a holiday, therefore, Wintersession books are due back by 4pm, Tuesday, January 19, 2021. Books shipped with a postmark on or before Tuesday, January 19th will be considered on time. Please ship to Textbook Rental, 610 Washington Ave., North Dock, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701. Students who are shipping their books should get a tracking number for shipping verification.

For retail books go online through the bookstore website or go to the Southeast Bookstore, 1st Floor UC. The Southeast Bookstore will be open December 14th ? 18th and 21st ? 22nd, 2020, 8am ? 5pm, and they will close to the public at noon on December 23rd and reopen on January 4th, 2021. Books from Southeast Bookstore can be shipped with a postmark date no later than Tuesday, January 19, 2021 to 388 N. Henderson, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701. Students who are shipping their books should get a tracking number for the package.
