3. Install in a level and stable location. 4. Equipment must be plugged directly into an outlet. Extension cords & power bars are not allowed. 5. Do not use if any components are damaged. 6. Do not place any items/objects in front of or behind the material. The material moves forward and

backward during cutting, ensure that there are no obstructions (wall, etc.) behind the machine.

PROCEDURE: 1. Create your image using the Silhouette Studio Software. 2. Prepare the cutting mat by removing the non-stick liner and position your paper/vinyl on the mat

according to the diagram shown on the in the software. OR cut the vinyl to the size of the cutting mat and apply the vinyl to the mat, lining up the vinyl to the grid on the mat. 3. Ensure your image is positioned on the screen where you want it to cut on the mat. Be sure to keep your design within the red margins on your page. 4. Ensure the unit is plugged directly into a standard 110 or 120 volt outlet. 5. Turn the Silhouette CAMEO? on by pressing the power button and waiting for the machine to start up. 6. To feed the cutting mat into the Silhouette, lift the lid, align the left edge of the mat with the blue alignment mark on the left side of the machine, press the mat against the white rollers, and press the "Load cut mat" button on the machine's screen.

Note: Loading a material that has its own backing and does not require a cutting mat (such as vinyl), requires a similar process as above but you should select "Load media" instead. However the cutting mat may still be used.

7. Adjust the rollers on the main roller shaft, to cut the following sizes of media: A4, letter, 12", and 13". Locate the release lever on the right side and turn it clockwise. Grasp the roller body and roller head and twist into the unlocked position. Slide the roller to the desired position and twist to lock in place.

8. Adjust the blade height to the proper setting. 1 ? thin materials such as vinyl and smooth heat transfer material 2/3 - Medium-weight materials such as paper, cardstock and flocked heat transfer material. 4/6 - Thicker materials such as textured cardstock and pattern papers. 7/10 - Thick materials such as canvas

Caution: higher blade settings expose more of the blade and are for cutting thicker materials. Do not use higher blade settings to cut thin material. Always use the correct blade setting for the material you are cutting

9. Determine if dual carriage setup is required. Note: the auto blade can only be used in the left tool holder.

10. Load any additional tools into the desired carriage. 11. Click the Cut Settings button on the toolbar at the top of the screen. 12. Choose the appropriate media type from the list. 13. Click the Send to Silhouette button at the bottom of the right panel to initiate cutting.

Caution: Do not touch moving parts while the Silhouette is cutting. Keep hands and other objects away from moving parts when the machine is plugged in.

14. Once the Silhouette is done cutting, press the "Unload" button. 15. Peel away the cut mat from the back of the vinyl. Weed out the leftover paper/media off the cutting mat

and away from your image. 16. Use a Silhouette scraper tool to weed excess paper pieces from the mat. 17. Once your image is clean, cut it out. 18. Prepare the image for transfer by applying a piece of transfer tape over the image. Use a scraper to

remove any air bubbles and adhere the image to the transfer tape. 19. Carefully lift the transfer tape and image off the vinyl backing and apply the image to the desired surface

by pressing the tape over the object then peel away the transfer tape.

If an emergency situation occurs while conducting this task or there is an equipment malfunction, shut the equipment off immediately & REPORT TO YOUR SUPERVISOR IMMEDIATELY.
