You may find that you need to export and import your inventory Masterfile information for the

following reasons:

1.

You need to change the information on multiple items

2.

You would like to import this information into another company

Please note that only the inventory details from the inventory master file can be exported from Pastel. Transactions history cannot be exported or imported.

You can export inventory items as per the below instructions: ? Click on File | Export / Import ? Select Export Inventory items from the dropdown list as shown below:

? Click on the magnifying glass and browse the location where you would like to save the exported file on you PC i.e. Desktop

? Give the file a name with the extension .csv i.e. inventory.csv ? Click Process to open the screen below:

NOTE: The stores option will only show in Sage Pastel Partner and only if you have the Multi-Store module activated. Select your filters and click OK. If you need to make changes to the Inventory items information open the csv from the location you saved the file to and make the necessary changes. Remember to save the file before you import the file again however do not close the file as you will need to format some of the cells which will be explained below. If you just wish to import the information into another company without making changes you do not need to open the file you saved. You can import inventory items as per the below instructions:

Sage Pastel Partner after editing the file:

? Make the changes necessary and keep the file open ? Highlight column AB ? Right click on the colum and select the option to format cells as shown below:

? On the number tab click on custom as shown below:

? On the right where you see General delete this and type in 000 as shown below:

? Follow the same process to customize column AJ ? Save the file but leave it open

For Sage Pastel Xpress:

? Make the changes necessary and keep the file open ? Highlight column U ? Right click on the column and select the option to format cells as shown below:

? On the number tab click on custom as shown below:

? On the right where you see General delete this and type in 000 as shown below:

? Follow the same process to customize column AC ? Save the file but leave it open To import the Inventory Item in Sage Pastel Accounting ? Open the company in Sage Pastel accounting ? Select Import Inventory Items from the dropdown list as shown below:

? Click on the magnifying glass and browse to the location where you saved the exported file(s) i.e. Desktop

? De-select the option to Map Fields as shown below:

? Then click on Process.
