6.7L DIESEL

|[pic] |

1. If removed, install the fan drive (2). Tighten bolts (1) to 32 N·m (24 ft. lbs.).

|[pic] |

2. If removed, install the fan drive pulley (1). Tighten bolts (2) to 10 N·m (89 in. lbs.).

|CAUTION: |The electronically controlled viscous fan drive is vibration and impact sensitive, especially at the |

| |electrical connectors. Do not drop the unit. |

3. If remove, Install the accessory drive belt (Refer to 07 - Cooling/Accessory Drive/BELT, Serpentine/Installation) .

|[pic] |

4. Install the fan blade assembly (3) to the electrically controlled viscous fan drive (1). Tighten nuts (2) to 14 N·m (124 in. lbs.).

|[pic] |

5. Install the bracket (1) and connect wire harness connector onto the fan hub (3).

6. Position the fan/fan drive assembly inside fan shroud.

7. Tilt the fan shroud/fan blade toward front of vehicle and position the fan shroud/fan blade as an assembly into the engine compartment.

8. Install the fan blade/fan drive assembly to the fan pulley by turning the mounting nut clockwise (as viewed from front). The threads on the viscous fan drive are RIGHT-HAND. A 48 mm Fan Wrench can be used. Place a bar or screwdriver between the fan pulley bolts to prevent pulley from rotating. Tighten the mounting nut to 153 N·m (113 ft. lbs.).

|[pic] |

9. Check the top of the flexible fan shroud rubber seal (1) to ensure that it is seated on the outside of the fan shroud and NOT on the inside.

|[pic] |

10. Check the bottom of the flexible fan shroud rubber seal (1) to ensure that it is seated on the outside of the fan shroud and NOT on the inside.

|[pic] |

11. Install the two bottom fan shroud nuts (1). Tighten nuts (1) to 22 N·m (16 ft. lbs.).

|[pic] |

12. Install the passenger side fan shroud mounting nut (1). Tighten nut (1) to 22 N·m (16 ft. lbs.).

|[pic] |

13. Install the driver side fan shroud mounting nut (1). Tighten nut (3) to 22 N·m (16 ft. lbs.).

|[pic] |

14. Position and connect the fan drive wire harness connector (2) and install support retainer (1).

15. Connect the electronically controlled viscous fan electrical connector (2) at the fan shroud.

|[pic] |

16. Install the upper radiator shroud (1) and fasteners (2).

|[pic] |

17. Install the engine cover (2) and fasteners (1, 4).

18. Remove the oil dip stick (3).

19. Connect both negative battery cables.

|NOTE: |Viscous Fan Drive Fluid Pump Out Requirement: After installing a new viscous fan drive, bring the engine |

| |speed up to approximately 2000 RPM and hold for approximately two minutes. This will ensure proper fluid |

| |distribution within the drive. |

20. Start the vehicle and check for proper clearance between the fan blade assembly and the fan shroud.
