“I AM SATISFIED WITH JESUS”

PSALM 107:1-9

TEXT VERSE: PSALM 107:9

INTRO: Mankind purposes many things in its search for satisfaction. But as

Solomon said in the Ecclesiastes 1:2—“Vanity of vanities, saith the

Preacher, vanity of vanities, all is vanity.” Solomon expresses for us

that man’s search for satisfaction is futile for all is vanity. The man or

woman who does not know God demands an infinite satisfaction from

other human beings which they cannot give, and in the case of the

man, he becomes tyrannical and cruel. It springs from this one thing,

the human heart must have satisfaction, but there is only one Being

Who can satisfy the last abyss of the human heart, and that is the

Lord Jesus Christ. -- Oswald Chambers, Christianity Today, Vol. 37,

no. 11. Satisfaction can never be found in people, possession, places,

or position. True satisfaction can only be found in one Person, and

that person is Jesus!

There are so many things in my life with which I am not satisfied.

First and foremost among those things is my feeble effort at serving

the Lord. But in the midst of all this dissatisfaction and disappoint-

ment, it is so refreshing indeed to know someone that I am completely

satisfied with. His name is Jesus! The Apostle Peter said in 1 Peter

2:7—“Unto you therefore which believe, he is precious..” God has set

Eternity in our heart, and man's infinite capacity cannot be filled or

satisfied with the things of time and sense. -- F.B. Meyer in Our Daily

Walk. Christianity Today, Vol. 33, no. 8. This morning I want us to

focus our attention ON Jesus. Jesus Christ, the lover of our souls.

Jesus Christ, the One who died to redeem us. Jesus Christ, the One

Who is soon returning for His own. I want us to think on the subject,

“I am Satisfied with Jesus.” Friend, Are you satisfied with Jesus?

Note four things with me this morning:

(1) I AM SATISFIED WITH THE REALITY OF JESUS

PSALM 107:8-9—“Oh that men would praise the LORD for his

goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

For He satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul

with goodness.”

ILLUS: Many people recognize Jesus' humanity but fail to accept His deity.

They remind me of the young woman who was engaged to Mozart

before he rose to fame. Impressed by more handsome men, she

became disenchanted with him because he was so short. So she

gave him up for someone tall and attractive. When the world

began to praise Mozart for his outstanding musical

accomplishments, she regretted her decision. "I knew nothing of

the greatness of his genius," she said. "I only saw him as a little

man." We wonder why the Jews, who knew the Scriptures, failed

to see Jesus' true greatness. Perhaps they were looking for the

beautiful King described in Isaiah 33:17. They did not

understand that before Messiah came in all His glorious beauty,

He must first come as the Man of sorrows described in Isaiah 53.

*I AM SATISFIED WITH:

THE REALITY OF HIS CO-EXISTENCE WITH GOD (JOHN 1:1). John

1:1-2 tells us, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God”

Matthew Henry said, “The plainest reason why the Son of God is called the Word, seems to be, that as our words explain our minds to others, so was the Son of God sent in order to reveal his Father's mind to the world. What the evangelist says of Christ proves that he is God. He asserts, His existence in the beginning; His coexistence with the Father. The Word was with God” (Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary). Jesus has always been. There has never been a time He did not exist. He says of Himself in Revelation 1:11a—“I am the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last…” He was not created. He was co-existent was God, the Father.

B. THE REALITY OF HIS VIRGIN BIRTH AND INCARNATION. In Isaiah

7:14 we read, “Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold,

a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name

Immanuel.” We see the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy in Matthew 1:

20-23—“But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the

Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David,

fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in

her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall a son, and thou shalt call his

name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this

was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the

prophet saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth

a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted

is, God with us.” I believe in the virgin birth. I believe in the

incarnation. John 1:14 says, “And the Word was made flesh, and

dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory as of the only begotten of the

Father,) full of grace and truth.” The virgin birth sets Christianity apart

from all other “religions” in this world.

ILLUS: If Jesus was not virgin born, then, of course, He had a human

father; if He had a human father, then He inherited the nature

of that father; as that father had a nature of sin, then He

inherited his nature of sin; then Jesus Himself was a lost

sinner and He Himself needed a Savior from sin. Deny the

virgin birth of Jesus Christ and you paralyze the whole scheme

of redemption by Jesus Christ—I.M. Haldeman (1).

But Thank God, Jesus was virgin born so that He might redeem from

our sins and present holy and blameless to God. Praise God for the

virgin birth and the incarnation of the Lord Jesus Christ!

ILLUS: Light looked down and saw darkness, "there will I go," said

light

Life looked down and saw death, "there will I go," said life

Love looked down and saw despair, "there will I go," said love

So came light and shown truth, so came life and conquered

death so came love and gave hope, and "the WORD became

flesh and dwelt among us"- Daniel L. Akin, The Southern

Seminary Magazine, Winter 1997, 8.

C. THE REALITY OF HIS SINLESS LIFE. Hebrews 4:15 tells us, “For we

have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our

infirmities; but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.” The

Apostle Peter speaking of our Lord Jesus in 1 Peter 2:22 says, “Who

did no sin, neither was there guile found in his mouth.” Jesus is like us

because he experienced every kind of temptation we experience today.

But He is different because, although He was tempted, He never sinned.

Jesus is the only human being who has ever lived without committing

sin. Now in heaven, He completely understands our weaknesses and

temptations and offer forgiveness (2). Jesus was tried, He was tempted

but He never sinned. Because of that He was the perfect sacrifice!

ILLUS: Joseph Damien was a nineteenth-century missionary who

ministered to people with leprosy on the island of Molokai,

Hawaii. Those suffering grew to love him and revered the

sacrificial life he lived out before them. One morning before

Damien was to lead daily worship, he was pouring some hot

water into a cup when the water swirled out and fell onto his

bare foot. It took him a moment to realize that he had not felt

any sensation. Gripped by the sudden fear of what this could

mean, he poured more hot water on the same spot. No feeling

whatsoever. Damien immediately knew what had happened. As

he walked tearfully to deliver his sermon, no one at first noticed

the difference in his opening line. He normally began every

sermon with, "My fellow believers." But this morning he began

with, "My fellow lepers." In a greater measure Jesus came into

this world knowing what it would cost him. He bore in his pure

being the marks of evil, that we might be made pure. "For this I

came into the world," he said (John 18:37).-- Ravi Zacharias in

Deliver Us From Evil. Fresh Illustrations for Preaching &

Teaching (Baker), from the editors of Leadership.

I AM SATISFIED WITH THE REALITY OF JESUS, also…

(2) I AM SATISFIED WITH THE REDEMPTION OF JESUS

PSALM 107:2-3—“Let the redeemed of the LORD say so,

whom He hath delivered from the hand of the enemy;

And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and

from the west, and from the north, and from the south.”

*The hymn writer, Edwin Excell wrote:

“I have a Christ that satisfies, Since I have been redeemed;

To do His will my highest prize, Since I have been redeemed.

Since I have been redeemed. Since I have been redeemed,

I will glory in His name; Since I have been redeemed,

I will glory in my Savior’s name.”

--Copyright 1912, by E.O. Excell, Renewal. Hope Publishing

Co., owner.

*I AM SATISFIED WITH:

A. THE BASIS OF HIS REDEMPTION (HEBREWS 9:22). Redemption is

by the blood of Jesus and His blood alone! Hebrews 9:22 makes it

clear that redemption is through the blood, “And almost all things are

by the law purged with blood; and without the shedding of blood is no

remission.” Oliver B. Greene said in his commentary on Hebrews, “The

devil cares not how long, how fervently, how sincerely or how often

God’s man preaches, providing he leaves the blood out of his message;

but a bloodless sermon is a sermon of Satan, a bloodless religion is a

religion of Satan. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission

of sin, no forgiveness, no redemption, no hope of entering heaven” (3).

ILLUS: The Scotch patriot, Robert Bruce, was once hiding in the

mountains from the forces of King Edward of England, when

he heard the baying of bloodhounds. Bruce suddenly

recognized the baying as that of his own dogs. His English

enemies had put them on his track, sure that they would lead

straight to their owner. Although worn out from hardships

and lack of food, the Scotch patriot rose up at once and fled

as rapidly as possible. But in vain; only one end seemed

possible. The baying dogs came closer and closer. The fugitive

was at the point of despair when suddenly he came upon a

brook. Quickly he entered the water and walked downstream.

Shortly afterward the dogs were at the bank. The tone of the

barking changed as they worked upstream and down without

finding the continuation of the trail. Bruce was able thus to

elude his enemies because the dogs were unable to find the

trail under the water.

Surely this is a picture of the sinner. Robert Bruce's own

hounds were his pursuers. The sinner is pursued by his sins.

Every man's own sins are sure to track him down and destroy

him. What to do? There is only one way; but thank God, there

is one in which the guilty sinner can be saved from the

judgment of God. He must hide himself in the current that

flows from 'Calvary. There Jesus Christ paid with His own

blood in order to freely offer pardon to every sinner. The

bloodhounds of sin are at your heels but here is hope for you.

God loves you still. "The blood of Jesus Christ His Son

cleanseth us from all sin" (1 John 1:7) --The Sword Of The

Lord

B. THE FREENESS OF HIS REDEMPTION (1 JOHN 2:2). Jesus died

for all. His shed blood is sufficient to save all! But to be redeemed a

person must by faith believe that Christ’s blood is sufficient to save

them. Paul said in Romans 3:24-26—“Being justified freely by His

grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath

set forth to be a propitiation (sign of His mercy) through faith in His

blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are

past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time, His

righteousness; that He might be just, and the justifier of him which

believeth in Jesus.” Redemption is free and available to all by faith

in Christ Jesus.

ILLUS: Reader's Digest wrote of the late Harvey Penick: "For 90-year-

old golf pro Harvey Penick, success has come late. His first

golf book, Harvey Penick's Little Red Book, has sold more

than a million copies, which his publisher believes makes it

one of the biggest things in the history of sports books. His

second book, And If You Play Golf, You're My Friend, has

already sold nearly three-quarters of a million. But anyone

who imagines that Penick wrote the books to make money

doesn't know the man. "In the 1920s Penick bought a red

spiral notebook and began jotting down observations about

golf. He never showed the book to anyone except his son until

1991, when he shared it with a local writer and asked if he

thought it was worth publishing. The man read it and told

him yes. He left word with Penick's wife the next evening that

Simon & Schuster had agreed to an advance of $90,000.

"When the writer saw Penick later, the old man seemed

troubled. Finally, Penick came clean. With all his medical

bills, he said, there was no way he could advance Simon &

Schuster that much money. The writer had to explain that

Penick would be the one to receive the $90,000." People often

have Penick's reaction to the fabulous gift of salvation offered

in Jesus Christ. We ask, "What must I do?" God answers,

"Just receive."-- Eric Hulstrand, Binford, North Dakota.

Leadership, Vol. 16, no. 4.

C. THE PARTICIPANTS OF HIS REDEMPTION (HEBREWS 2:9).

Hebrews 2:9 tells us, “But we see Jesus, who was made a little

lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory

and honor; that He by the grace of God should tasted death for every

man.” Notice it says there, EVERY MAN. Christ died to redeem all

mankind, but not all mankind will be redeemed. Why? Because so

many reject Christ and redemption through His blood.

ILLUS: On the Niagara River, there is a small mound known as

Redemption Point, because once a swimmer or a boat goes

beyond it, they are carried over the Falls. On life's river there

is a point beyond which, if sinners pass, they are carried to

destruction.

God visited mankind in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ, suffered

sin's penalty, took man’s place, died in man’s stead—but only by His

grace. The Lord Jesus Christ tasted death for ALL men. There has

never been a person for whom Christ did not die—but the gift of grace

becomes ours only when we make it ours by faith (4). As Ephesians

1:7 tells us, “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the

forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.”

D. THE PROVISIONS OF HIS REDEMPTION (2 CORINTHIANS 5:21).

God took His perfect Son and made Him to be sin for you and me. As

Isaiah 53:5-6 tells us, “But he was wounded for our transgressions,

He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was

upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have

gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD

hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”

ILLUS: A preacher asked his congregation to repeat with him one

word, the word "Jesus." And they all said it together, "Jesus."

Then he said, "Will you repeat with me two words, all who

can honesty do so, 'My Jesus?' " Not so many could repeat

the words this time. Could you say them this morning, "My

Jesus," "My Jesus?" You are redeemed. There is no excuse

for your continuance in sin. You may be made a new

creature in Christ Jesus if you will submit yourself unto the

loving righteousness of God as it is manifested in Jesus

Christ. Give yourself unto his spirit, to be filled with his love,

and you will be delivered from your transgressions. God is

not willing that any should perish, and the bitterest drop in

the dregs of the impenitent sinner's cup of woe will be that it

was needless, and worse than needless, because of the

world's redemption through Jesus Christ. -- B. F. M. By J.

Wilbur Chapan, "Present Day Parables."

When we trust in Christ, we make a trade—our sin for His goodness.

Our sin was poured into Christ at His crucifixion. His righteousness

was poured into us at our conversion. This is what Christians mean

by Christ’s atonement for sin (5).

E. THE DURATION OF HIS REDEMPTION (HEBREWS 10:14). Jesus’

death on the Cross obtained eternal redemption for all who place

their faith in Him. It says there in Hebrews 10:14—“For by one

offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.” He hath

laid the foundation of the eternal perfection. The offering is of such a

character that it secures their final freedom from sin, and will make

them forever holy. It cannot mean that those for whom he died are

made at once perfectly holy, for that is not true; but the idea is, that

the offering was complete, and did not need to be repeated; and that

it was of such a nature as entirely to remove the penalty due to sin,

and to lay the foundation for their final and eternal holiness (Albert

Barnes’ Notes on the Bible). We are secure. He holds us!

ILLUS: There were two brethren who differed on the question of the

believer's safety in Christ. They were discussing the

question, and one said to the other: "I'll tell you, a child of

God is safe only so long as he stays in the lifeboat. He may

jump out, and if he jumps out he is lost." To this the other

replied, saying: "You remind me of an incident in my own

life. I took my little son out with me in a boat. I realized, as

he did not, the danger of his falling or even jumping into the

water. So I sat with him all the time, and all the time I held

him fast, so he could neither fall out nor jump out of the

boat." "But," said the first speaker, "he could have wriggled

out of his coat and got away in spite of you." "Oh," said the

other, "you misunderstood me if you supposed I was holding

his coat; I was holding him."

I AM SATISFIED WITH THE REALITY OF JESUS and I AM SATISFIED WITH THE REDEMPTION OF JESUS, also…

(3) I AM SATISFIED WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF JESUS

JOHN 6:63—“It is the spirit that quickeneth the flesh profiteth

nothing: the words I speak unto you, they are spirit, and

they are life.”

*As We read through the Word of God we see some requirements of Jesus.

I AM SATISFIED WITH:

A. HIS REQUIREMENTS FOR SALVATION (ACTS 20:21). The Apostle

Paul said that he was preaching and holding back nothing concerning

God’s requirements for salvation, “Testifying both to the Jews and also

to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus

Christ.” Repentance of sin and Faith in Christ are His requirements

for Salvation.

ILLUS: Quite a few years ago, Governor Neff of the State of Texas

received an invitation to speak at one of the penitentiaries in

that state. He spoke to the assembled prisoners, and afterward

said that he would be around for a while to listen to anything

any of the convicts might wish to tell him. He would take as

much time as they wanted, and anything they would tell him

would be kept in confidence. The convicts began to come, one

at a time. One after another told him a story of how they had

been unjustly sentenced, were innocent, and wished to get out.

Finally one man came through who said to him, "Governor

Neff, I do not want to take much of your time. I only want to

say that I really did what they convicted me of. But I have been

here a number of years. I believe I have paid my debt to

society, and that, if I were to be released, I would be able to live

an upright life and show myself worthy of your mercy." This

was the man whom Governor Neff pardoned.

Repentance is to be exercised “toward God,” because:

(1) Sin has been committed against him, and it is proper that we

express our sorrow to the Being whom we have offended; and,

(2) Because only God can pardon. Sincere repentance exists only

where there is a willingness to make acknowledgment to the very

Being whom we have offended or injured. (Albert Barnes’ Notes on

The Bible)

“Faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ,” It means we place our confidence

in the work and merits of the Lord Jesus. This is required, because

there is no other one who can save from sin (Acts 4:12).

B. HIS REQUIREMENTS FOR OBEDIENCE (ROMANS 12:1). William

Barclay said, “The Christian must aim at that complete obedience to

God in which life finds its highest happiness, its greatest good, its

perfect consummation, its peace” (6). Paul wrote in Romans 12:1

that we “by the mercies of God…present our bodies as a living

sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is our reasonable service.”

The Jewish dispensation with its sacrifices was ended; it closed when

Christ, "our passover," was offered for us. But a new order of sacrifice

has come in. We should give ourselves. As the victim on the altar was

surrendered wholly to God, so our bodies with all their members

should be consecrated to his service; not as slain, but as "living

sacrifices." We do this when they become the temple of the Holy Spirit,

and are used to serve God (The People’s New Testament Commentary).

Nothing can be more consistent with reason than that the work of God

should glorify its Author. We are not our own, we are the property of

the Lord, by the right of creation and redemption; and it would be as

unreasonable as it would be wicked not to live to his glory, in strict

obedience to his will (Adam Clarke’s Commentary on the Bible).

C. HIS REQUIREMENTS FOR A SUCCESSFUL CHRISTIAN LIFE (1

JOHN 2:15). We cannot love God rightly if we have the love of the

World in our hearts. The things of the world are not of God. And

God wants us to love Him supremely!

ILLUS: The story is told of a wealthy man who lost his wife when

their only child was young. A housekeeper was hired to take

care of the boy, who lived only into his teens. Heartbroken

from this second loss, the father died a short time later. No

will could be found; and since there were no relatives, it

looked as if the state would get his fortune. The man's

personal belongings, including his mansion, were put up for

sale. The old housekeeper had very little money, but there

was one thing she wanted. It was a picture that had hung on

a wall in the house -- a photo of the boy she had loved and

nurtured. When the items were sold, nobody else wanted the

picture, so she bought it for just a few pennies. Taking it

home, she began to clean it and polish the glass. As she took

it apart, a paper fell out. It was the man's will, and in it he

stated that all his wealth should go to the one who loved his

son enough to buy that picture. The legacy of heaven and the

inexhaustible riches of God's love belong to all who trust and

love His Son.

Our Lord Jesus said in Matthew 22:37-38 that the first and greatest

Commandment is “thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,

and with they soul, and with all thy mind.” It is not until we love HIM

with our ALL that we can experience success in the Christian life!

D. HIS REQUIREMENTS FOR OBTAINING REWARDS (1 COR. 3:11-

14). The key to having rewards in Heaven is first of all that we

build on the right foundation. We must build with the right

materials—gold, silver, and precious stones”. If we pursue the

trophies of this world, we will surely miss out on the trophies of

heaven.

ILLUS: Our eternal reward reflects the amount of God's glory that we

have allowed to shine through us. It is like a chandelier that

has many light bulbs, some 25 watt, some 50 watt, and

some 100 watt. The light bulbs as a whole all give and

contribute light on the room. That's the way it will be in

heaven, but some of us will be contributing only 25 watts,

others 50 watts and still others a full 100 watts. How much

of God's light do you want to shine through you?

E. HIS REQUIREMENTS FOR GOING TO HEAVEN. Jesus said in

John 3:16-18—“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only

begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but

have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to

condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not

is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of

the only begotten Son of God.” His requirement is that we believe in

Him. That we rest all our hopes of Heaven on HIM!

ILLUS: WHAT IF?

An atheist once teased a Christian by saying: "Say, George,

what would you say if, when you die, you found there wasn't

such a place as heaven after all?"

With a smile the believer replied, "I should say - well, I've had

a fine time getting there anyway!"

Then the Christian sent a boomerang back to the atheist:

"Say, Fred, what would you say if, when you die, you found

there was such a place as HELL after all?"

I AM SATISFIED WITH THE REALITY OF JESUS, I AM SATISFIED WITH THE REDEMPTION OF JESUS, I AM SATISFIED WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF JESUS, and finally…

(4) I AM SATISFIED WITH THE REASSURANCES OF JESUS

*I AM REASSURED:

A. THROUGH HIS PRECIOUS WORD. Daily His Word comforts my heart,

convicts me of my sins, and constrains me in my service for Him.

Through His word I know I am forgiven, free, and forever His! Through

His Word I find my strength, supplication, and satisfaction. Oh how,

His Word reassures me when I find myself beginning to doubt!

ILLUS: God’s Word is an enemy for depression, an escape for temp-

tation, the promise of the future, as well as a guide, hope,

and inspiration for now and always.—Al and Brenda Taylor (7).

B. THROUGH ANSWERED PRAYER. Each time He answers my prayers

It reassures me of His love, provision and protection. As He supplies

my needs my faith grows and it inspires me to trust Him more and

more.

ILLUS: Years ago there was a great drought in Connecticut. The water

disappeared from the hills, and the farmers drove their cattle

into the valleys. Streams there began to fail, and neighbors

said to a certain man of God, "You must not send your flocks

down here any more." The old man gathered his family around

the family altar on their knees before God. They cried with

tears and supplications for water that the flocks and herds

might not perish. Afterward he went out into the hills, and in a

place that he had walked scores of times before he saw that

the ground was dark and moist; when he turned up the soil,

water started. The family came with pails and watered the

stock; then they made troughs reaching to the house. Water

was plentiful. --Sunday School Times

C. THROUGH HIS PROVIDENCE. The Psalmist David said in Psalm 37:

23-24—“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he

delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down:

for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.” Every step we take God

sees. He sees our way. He knows when we fall. And He works in our

lives according to His will. It is very easy talking what we can bear, and

what we can do, but let God lay his hand on us, and we shall see what

we are.-- George Whitefield. Christian History, Issue 38.

D. THROUGH PROMPTINGS OF THE SPIRIT. His Spirit leads us and

teaches us. His Spirit guides in the way we should go. Many times we

find ourselves in doubt as to what is God’s will for our lives. It is in

these times, that God’s Spirit leads us in the way that God would have

us to go.

ILLUS: Along our highways, well placed at appropriate locations, are

official signs which give us direction and warn us of danger.

Most of these are the reflector type; that is, they are designed

to reflect the light of auto headlamps. In darkness, they are

invisible to anyone who travels without a light. But when our

auto headlights are flashed upon these signs, they reflect back

to us their message of guidance or caution. Their night-time

aid to us depends upon the light we bring to them. They have

no meaning for unlighted lamps. God would like to guide us

through the days and through the years of this life. His signs

are out there-in all the appropriate places. But whether we see

them will depend upon the light with which we approach

them.

CLOSING: There is a story told of a lady missionary who found an undersized

and underdeveloped Irish boy whose white, wizened face brought

out great sympathy in her. Perhaps he was about 15 years old, but

he scarcely looked 12. She won the boy's confidence with gifts and

flowers and fruit, and soon found he was eager to learn about

Jesus. At first his interest seemed impersonal, but he gradually

became more concerned.

One day the lady called upon him, and found his face aglow with a

new-found joy. Asking the reason, he replied with assurance, "O,

misses, I always knew that Jesus was necessary, but I never knew

'til yesterday that He was enough." Friend, I want you to know this

morning that not only is Jesus necessary, but Jesus is enough. He

is all you need. If you have nothing but Jesus you have enough!

I AM SATISFIED WITH THE REALITY OF JESUS, THE

REDEMPTION OF JESUS, THE REQUIREMENTS OF JESUS,

and THE REASSURANCES OF JESUS. Are you satisfied with

Jesus today? Christian friend, YOU may be satisfied with Jesus,

But is Jesus satisfied with YOU?
