#7 – CHARTING ASSIGNMENT

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Copy the following spreadsheet as it appears below into an excel file.

2. Calculate the Class Average, Student Average, Highest Score, and Lowest Score.

3. Round off all averages to 2 decimal places and the highest and lowest score should be to the nearest whole number.

4. Create two charts just like the ones on the reverse side of this page. You must highlight the areas on your spreadsheet that you want included in the charts. (To select different areas of the spreadsheet, highlight the first area and then hold down the Ctrl key and select any other areas). Go to the insert ribbon, click on style of charts you want and then use the chart tools to change the design, layout and format of your charts.

5. If you want to format sections of your chart once it is in your spreadsheet, you just need to double click or right click on the section and a format menu will appear where you can change the font, colour, alignment, scale, etc.

6. Rename the worksheet tab #1 as “Class Averages” and create the 1st chart on the same page as the data provided. This is the as object in option.

The chart should be moved below the data and located in the cell range (B14:F28)

7. Create the 2nd chart on its own page. This is done by selecting the chart, click design option in chart tools and select the as new sheet option. Rename the worksheet tab for Chart #2 as “Student Comparison”.

8. Change the colour of both worksheet tabs. Delete other worksheet tabs.

9. Feel free to change colours on your charts to make them look unique as long as they are formatted the same as the ones on the back of this page.

10. Type your name in cell A25 on the Class Averages worksheet.

11. Save the file as “#7 - Charting Assignment”
